UQ Holder Chapter 112 SPOILER Info (Update #3: More info, now with images!)

Here is some SPOILER info for the upcoming UQ Holder Chapter 112, courtesy of 2ch.  (My review of UQ Holder Chapter 112 should come out late Tuesday night or Wednesday, U.S. time, depending on when Crunchyroll publishes the chapter.)

UQ HOLDER Chapter 112 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder Chapter 112 goodness begins. This looks to be the chapter’s spoilers. ^_^

Another Negima-heavy chapter, or so it appears. I a reference to the old 3-A classroom, Chachamaru, Mana, Ayaka, and even Zazie. Negi and the Mage of the Beginning are also discussed. And so it the “Nii” girl. So for us Negima fans, this could be an interesting chapter. That being said, we’ll need a translation from a gracious person, as per usual.

Updates to come.

Update #1: Translation from Gamen.

The place Yukihime took Touta to was the old 3-A classroom
Inside waiting was Sayo, Chachamaru, Mana, and Ayaka

Students of Mahora Gakuen 3-A

Last night, above the orbital station for a moment Negi appeared
From looking at the image he seemed to be in quite a bit of pain
Why… That is the fault of the characteristic ability the Mage of the Beginning has called “Resonance”
Zazie who joined midway says
Negi has been hijacked by the Mage of the Beginning, if so
Touta guesses that that that can help out is his own “White” power so
The man you love I will take back for sure!
he speaks sharply, but… right after
He has the sh!t beat out of him by the intruding Konoe twins

*The two girls whose behavior towards “Big Brother” is a little much! They are allies!?

Triple-that! Do I get a cookie?

Had I cookies, you’d surely get some. 😉 I was totally wrong on how I saw the 兄 reference. And I totally missed the Sayo reference. However, the theory that Isana and Honoka would attack Touta appears right on target.

Thanks Gamen. ^_^

Update #2: MK‘s images.

So, Isana appears to be a quiet Shinmeiryuu warrior and Honoka is an eastern mage (and a loud one, apparently). I get the feeling they are calling Touta “Oniisama,” but I could be mistaken.

Also, looks like we’ll get an explanation of Resonance, which hopefully will give us more insight into MotB’s power.

Update #3: Some more images from 2ch, while we wait for the chapter from Crunchyroll.

    • Gamen says:

I don’t know how you’re seeing the 兄 reference; I don’t know whether it’s refering to Touta or Negi, but I suspect Negi.

      • DerGilga says:

shouldn’t it be Touta. The line refers to how they just beat Touta up. This is at least the impression I get.

        • Gamen says:

Yes, I’m probably overthinking it; I did not know that they had referred to Touta as 兄 previously and was allowing for the possibility that Negi was 兄 and the behaviour in question was their need to put a weakling who dared to imply he could do something Negi couldn’t in his place…. Having the shit beat out of him goes a little beyond あんまり I think, even for understatement…

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I was thinking Touta, but I was specifically thinking the girl that addressed him as “nii-san.”

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      Thanks!

  2. mattcgw says:

    No Setsuna? Hmm, telling.
If akamatsu keeps this up, I may just have to go leipzig and ask where the hell she is.
I wonder whether it was a flashback or concurrent?

  3. Seimei says:

Very interesting. From this information it would appear that your theory that the mage of the begining does not take possession of people is true Astro. Looks rather than the “resonance” is a form of mind-control as I understand it.

However we can quite combine your theory with mine. Namely, the mage of the Beginning caould if necessary, take full control of those he “infected” with the Resonance and thus make the kinds of “projections” of his person, “spiritual clones” so to speak, as he probably did for Filius Zekt and Nagi at the time of Negima.

    • mattcgw says:

Resonance could simply be unique to those of the lifemakers bloodline.

      • NT says:

If that were true then Filius Zect wouldn’t have been taken over by the MotB. Seems like it’s just a body possessing curse that works with anyone.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

More like body controlling. I think when MotB showed up in chapter 65, we saw resonance at work with how she held Nagi and Negi in her cloak. I suspect it is an advanced form of doll magic like Eva has, only used on humans instead of dolls.

          • mattcgw says:

@astronerdboy However, resonance and possession could be different, hence why we (the reader) are given the term ‘resonance’. I wonder what the original Japanese is for it.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

Tomonari (共鳴り) is the original word.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

Possible, in that it would allow her to more easily control them. She did have Nagi and Negi, last we saw her, and she’s interested in Touta.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Very interesting. From this information it would appear that your theory that the mage of the begining does not take possession of people is true Astro. Looks rather than the “resonance” is a form of mind-control as I understand it.

Yes. And to take it a step further, it would appear that resonance is like an advanced form of the doll magic of Eva’s, only it allows full control and manipulation of a human. It makes sense though. By doing this, the MotB gets to stay someplace safe, while using a controlled entity as a proxy. If the entity gets defeated (or worse), MotB is safe. Under the possession theory, MotB would be vulnerable, needing a body after a defeat. After all, ethereal beings can be killed/exorcised (Sayo as an example).

As to Zecht, you could be right, but if MotB is whom I think she is, then Zecht could be her partner.

      • Seimei says:

I think it’s more complicated than that Astro. I think the person Nagi defeated at the end of the war was really the life-maker. Simply belonging to the highest category of immortals (A Rank? S Rank?) Even Nagi lightning spear, which pulverized him (the attack was to have the force of a nuclear explosion in view of the damage ) it was not enough to destroy him. Just as his body was badly damaged he needed to use the “resonance” (Zekt on the outskirts, and later on Nagi) to continue to act until his body regenerates completely.

But yes, I love the fact that the life-maker we be presented almost as a “virus” spreading by contagion. The away than we can say, is that the more we learn about him, the more we discover how he is monstrously powerful and dangerous. ^^

As for Zekt I rather think it was the first “homunculus” created by the life-maker, the prototype which served as the basis for Averruncus, Atur, Addad, ect) but as Fate after him, he was “bugged” and turned against his creator… his “father” ( “fillius” means “son” in latin^^).

        • nt122 says:

if we consider the lifemaker as a virus though, then why didn’t She jump into Eva’s body when Eva found and beat the hell out of her?(it was a him then). I smell a plothole.

But…. then what the heck is the lifemaker? is it actually something the someone created?

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

This has always been my problem with the MotB body hoping theory. Not only did MotB not possess Eva, but when Nagi defeated her, she didn’t bother to possess him either. Instead, she chose to possess the one whom she’d apparently massively defeated (Zecht).

Of course, the body hoping theory took a major blow when UQH revealed MotB as we saw her when she was observing Ala Rubra from a distance. Originally, this was some poor, unnamed mage that MotB had taken over before abandoning the body to take over Zecht, before abandoning that body to take over Nagi. So far, I haven’t heard anything plausible to state why MotB is back in the woman’s body when MotB is supposed to be just an ethereal being that possesses others and the woman’s body was supposed to have been destroyed by Nagi.

I still think MotB will be Amateru and Zecht will be her partner from the founding of the Magic World (and the pactio system).

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

If MotB can body hop, why jump into the body of someone you’ve already massively defeated? Why not just possess Nagi, who’d already expended great amounts of power and was in no position to stop it?

  4. NT says:

So..they kick the crap out of him? wow. And seeing some old faces again. Wait.. why wasn’t sayo present during the Zombie deal?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

So..they kick the crap out of him? wow.

😆 Well, the theory that this would happen did get floated after last chapter. It kinda amuses me to think about how this plays out. (Though I suspect that Touta may not fight back much since they are young girls.)

Wait.. why wasn’t sayo present during the Zombie deal?

      Reasons? 😉

      • OverMaster says:

That one at least can be justified. Sayo is a long time coward, and odds are she wouldn’t have been able to do anything, anyway.

      • OverMaster says:

“So for us Negima fans, this could be an interesting chapter. ”

Is most of 3-A still dead? Yes? Then I’m still not interested. I don’t want freaking crumbles tossed here and there just to tease me. If you do, more power to you.

I think Sayo was implied to have passed on-ascended during Asakura’s epilogue, so this would mean this is the timeline where Asuna was not recovered by Eva and Chao.

        • dominic says:

But IT Could be That she is awake But somewhere

          • OverMaster says:

Doing something more important than being in the middle of these potentially world changing events, like, let’s say…?

It also could be that this series is all just a dream Yue is having after having a wrong drink, or it could be that Chamo is the Mage of the Beginning, or…

        • Seimei says:

“so this would mean this is the timeline where Asuna was not recovered by Eva and Chao.”

Uh … Well done you just found someting that most readers have assumed since UQ Holder …. about Chapter 20 !! Fantastic! ^^

More seriously, it is clear that this is not the timeline of the Epilogue. Already there is the simple fact that the revelation of the magic date is not the same (2010 epilogue to 2075 for UQ Holder) in following the date of disappearance of Negi (2065) is the same as Asuna saw on awakening. These indices show that we are probably in the timeline where Asuna revival in 2135.

For the rest … What say?…. Some peaple fun to imagine that the whole saga Pokémon (in anime) is a dream of Satoshi in a coma. If it amuses you to believe that UQ is a dream Yue, so go with that guy … In any way, Akamatsuvers is in a multiverse (as Chao proved us at the end of Negima), so even a dream can -being live in a parallel réalitée so it does not matter … and basically, all fictional narrative is an unreal dream.

In short, if you were trying to troll fans of UQ yet, sorry but was a failure, I do not let me have more. ^^ And if you just trying to infect others with your absurd despair to not see again, a class of schoolgirls magical-girl on the front of the scene, also a fail, finally for me, I do not know for other readers. ^^

          • Seimei says:

ps : I’m just passing through. I usually do not answer to your comments because I do not see the utilitée more, but one of your sentences (in the citation) so me smile that I could not resist ^^.

          • Seimei says:

ps (2) : That said as a last word before shooting my bow on our conversation (but not on the topic itself, of course ^^), do not take your theories about “UQ is a dream of Yue where we discover that Camo is the life- maker” very seriously, for not only, as I have said, even if they were true, the fact that one is in a multiverse, lets not give too much importance to that.

But either so these have a VERY, VERY good chance of being wrong. so if you use it as an antidote to your dummy despair (because yes, be desperate about the fate of fictional characters (complain they died by example, we can be touched by this fact, even if it’s a fiction, of course. But continue to complain after 4 years … has seriously disproportionate in my opinion^^) this is a “dummy despair” to me, but hey, to each his own concepts and ideas I want to say ^^), you should not give too much importance if you ask me, because PROBABLY you could be even more desperate in the end. Lol. ^^

          • Seimei says:

Well!… In reading again your comment with your theories absurd Over-Master, I perceived, you just answered the unlikely theory by Dominic theories even less believable. I’m not like your attempts to troll, must render to Caesar what is Caesar as they say.

However Dominic was only share a simple idea. I do not believe in me either made Asuna is awake in this timeline and we are rather in the timeline B (for reasons already explained) but was it necessary to make fun of the idea and theories with you hast made just for trolling?

        • nt122 says:

I would be more inclined to think that sayo can actually go wherever she wants now that if she ascended she could leave the grounds without the fake Body, but may still use it to be ‘alive’.

If I remember correctly She is actually the same as our resident Necromancer Sayoko, and be be just as powerful.

And…it all could be a simple thing like Sayo not being around at the time of the event, which means she might apologize for not being around when Sayoko did her thing, even though time went back.

btw, I went and made a wordpress blog thingy so it’s still me, but I had to put those annoying numbers in because it wouldn’t let me keep it just NT….hahaha

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

btw, I went and made a wordpress blog thingy so it’s still me, but I had to put those annoying numbers in because it wouldn’t let me keep it just NT….hahaha

Probably because someone else already has NT.

  5. sanchi says:

I’m not good at being a spin-doctor – my batting average for predictive assumption is junk. I’m just glad the story is moving again. I hope we find out about the earlier meeting Eva had with Ayaka and Chachamaru – if we assume they had one. I can see Mana being there now too, since she’s HM of Mahora.. Sayo – maybe she prefers staying in that classroom, even if she has a doll body she can use that was made by Eva to go anywhere else. I don’t think she could have done anything preventative in the zombie arc either. She wouldn’t know Tota and UQ group (Karin, Kirie, Kuro) since they never met, nor went to her classroom. She may not even know who Sayako and Santa were. I kinda see her more as a observer, being a spirit, watching the world change from a one-person view.

Well, it appears consistent theme so far, every girl at the first meeting doesn’t like or has beaten up Tota for something he says or does.

I also question if the MotB has full control over Negi and Nagi. Or are there brief periods those two can break away before the MotB can regain control, or is it a feint as in using them as bait by the MofB to snare others.

  6. Dargor says:

Oh look, characters that I either don’t despise on a conceptual level, or otherwise bore me to death. Time to celebrate! Maybe we’ll get lucky and Akamatsu will draw them with both of their eyes for once. Wouldn’t that be something.

Meh. Its all moot. None of them will matter a fig or influence the narrative beyond throwing exposition or acting as mere bait to try and sate Negima fans, but that’s about it. The fact that the KonoSetsu-but-not-really seem to be around is telling enough. God, if they fall for that poor excuse of a protagonist, I might retch. Might as well awaken Asuna so she can join the party.

…That was a joke. Please leave Asuna out of this for all time, Akamatsu. I’ll sacrifice as many goats as it takes, just stop warping my favorite characters around into parodies of themselves.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Maybe we’ll get lucky and Akamatsu will draw them with both of their eyes for once. Wouldn’t that be something.

      Don’t bet on it. 😉

Meh. Its all moot. None of them will matter a fig or influence the narrative beyond throwing exposition or acting as mere bait to try and sate Negima fans, but that’s about it.

Probably very true, based on how things have been to date.

  7. OverMaster says:

“Uh … Well done you just found someting that most readers have assumed since UQ Holder …. about Chapter 20 !! Fantastic! ^^”

Well, you know. Some of us don’t have your amazing attuning to Akamatsu’s mind, and we can’t all see what goes through the mind of a man who keeps asspulling concepts and plot twists at his heart’s pleasure…

“In short, if you were trying to troll fans of UQ yet, sorry but was a failure, I do not let me have more”

Time and time again, you’ve proved your concept of ‘trolling’ apparently amounts to ‘critizicing the thing I happen to like’ so your accusations of trolling mean little to me other than the more basic sense of offense any man feels when other tries to sling mud at him. Which is apparently more than what can be said about you, since you took the chance to write four replies in barely understandable Franglish to me, all of them trying to LULWHAT me (you aren’t Deadpool, man) and make fun of me when I never even mentioned you or slighted YOUR intelligence in said posts.

“because PROBABLY you could be even more desperate in the end. Lol. ^”

The fact I probably have a very serious illness (like I have mentioned in other places, including ones I think Dargor frequents, so he might vouch for me here) and I probably will never see an actual resolution to characters I grew attached to (much like you’ve grown so attached to your precious Touta) probably has something to do with it, and with my overall frustration with life. Go ahead, mock me about that too.

    • Seimei says:

When did I mention personally? Never, I said “LES fans” I have not spoken of me.
Also as I said, the majority of UQ readers understood that we were in a parallel timeline, from chapter 20 or 30. And again, strong evidence soared from 1 chapter! I have NEVER claimed to be the only one who guessed. On the contrary, I rather say you were one of the few who had not realized. I’ve never claimed to be part of an “elite” contrary to what you seem to say.

As for the rest, as I say continues to maintain your own fictional despair about fictional characters if you agree.
Personally Tota could die in the end, become a god, or sacrifice, taking the life-maker with him into a black hole at the end of the final battle, I do not care. What interress me was the story. That the characters are happy or not in the end is the least of my worries. If they are happy I am of course happy too, BUT their ultimate happiness is neither a necessity nor an obligation for me. What interress meiss the overall and the end of the Story of ALL Akamatsuvers. End that come at the end of UQ. Unlike you, granting excessive affection for fictional characters, as you have to reconfirm here.

      • Seimei says:

        “The fact I probably-have a very serious illness …”
Wait, WHAT !? Because you’re serious about this ?!

So, in this case, despite our disagreements, I join Astro mean to you my sympathy. But you see, THIS has a real reason to complain! From this point of view I understand your frustration, but to say scathing remarks and give the impression (rightly or wrongly) want deliberately annoy the pleasure of those who really appreciate the series just by contempt, does not really help peaple to understand you.

Besides for your habits out replicas of ironic bad taste to try to meet me I sincerely believed that you were not serious and I apologize. You HONESTLY my compassion.

I must confess that I often ask how I would react if I discovered that I had grve health problem and that the series I was following would not end in the time. I never found the answer. So I understand better what you feel. But despite everything, I think spitting contempt on a fiction is not the best thing to do. After all, maybe one day, a fan of UQ Holder will be in this situation, what will you answer him? You will not hate each other you, though?

What I will tell you will perhaps (and surely) you seem empty in your situation, but, hate your illness, not an author or his fictional story, who has neither desired nor is responsible for your situation…

      • BROCK LESNAR says:

Editor’s note: Couldn’t publish these remarks, but your passion was duly noted. -ANB

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

Seimei — Just a reminder to not get into squabbles with people you disagree with. It is causing negative feedback. You may not intend this, but your rebuttals to people you disagree with are not sitting well with people who read the blog and comments. It is OK to voice your opinions, but when it comes to comments others make that you don’t like, just ignore them and move on. Thanks!

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

The fact I probably have a very serious illness…

Whoa! I didn’t know this (and I’m sorry to say that I was unaware of this). What is wrong?

  8. ST says:

About Asuna I think it is very intresting that she is not present in the first pages, where all (almost) 3-A say hallo to Evachan

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think the implication there is that Asuna is sleeping in the Magic World.

      • Kurusu Kimihito says:

        I don’t think that’s the case.
I never really knew what to make of that page.

But after the recent chapters, i have a theory.
All the people in the 2nd panel except of course Eva, are dead.
That’s why a number of characters, like Ayaka, are not in that panel.
Because those that are not in that panel are still alive.

Of course i might just be wrong, it’s just a theory in the end.
For all we know that page might not mean anything.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, hard to say either way.

          • Kurusu Kimihito says:

One more thing that has to be noted is that all the Negima characters that have appeared up till now are not in that 2nd panel.

One that especially stood out imo is Sayo, because Asakura is in that 2nd panel.
Those two were inseparable during Negima, thus Sayo showing up leads me to believe that my theory is correct.

As for Asuna, that is still a bit of a coin toss if you ask me, We have no way of knowing which timeline this is.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

As for Asuna, that is still a bit of a coin toss if you ask me, We have no way of knowing which timeline this is.

That’s true. It wouldn’t surprise me if this were a completely new timeline not previously seen.

    • Seimei says:

Has a very good observation, further evidence that we are probably in the timeline B (where Asuna dodo) and not in the timeline A (the epilogue of Negima), or even in the timeline Chao Linchen ( timeline C), since the mundus-magicus is indeed saved.

(supress the other twin comment Astro-san please.^^)
