Yup… still betting on the twins. :’D

  2. Mattcgw says:

I hope for some interesting dialogue.

  3. nt122 says:

The twins need some loving too….. family time is important after all… even if they wanna be part of the harem….

  4. dominic says:

If i am correct we do Not Know Three or four Persons on the picture.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yep. Of course, that presumes the hooded person is Santa, which I don’t think was ever confirmed.

  5. sanchi says:

hmm Konoe sisters win, the other girls lose, the bet is no-good, the fight over Tota continues. I agree!

I also hope we also learn more about the sisters, since they are now part of the UQ team. What if they start liking Kuromaru as a guy? After all, they can’t pursue Tota.

Very nice image of Negi I’ve seen in a long time — but I’m not sure nor remember Negi without his glasses, which then makes him look more like Nagi. Negi is also wearing a cloak like Nagi wore.

I know it hasn’t been explained, but if Negi killed Nagi and the MotB moved into Negi, then why was Nagi still being shown with Negi under the control of the MotB? … or was it a artistic story/plot change after it was drawn, or maybe something else is still missing, and yet to be shown, where Nagi is still around?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I bet they look at Kuroumaru like a girl, as others have. 😉

After all, they can’t pursue Tota.

Sure they can. We don’t know how much they are related, but even if they are related, likely, it is in a way were there aren’t any real genetic reasons for them not to be together.

Negi is also wearing a cloak like Nagi wore.

Not surprising, considering Negi followed in Nagi’s footsteps.

why was Nagi still being shown with Negi under the control of the MotB?

That’s one of those mysteries to be explained.

      • sanchi says:

Good points ANB … yeah, they will see Kuro as a girl … was hoping otherwise — a slight chance to see a change and some variety and focus away from Tota, and maybe a reason for Kuro to remain as a boy and no added harem contestants … yeah, too far of a stretch in thought on my part.

I also kept thinking if the Konoe girls pursues Tota it would be like a sister attracted to their blood brother — which I thought no…. but you are right again on the unknown genetics — as we don’t have the info on the genetic connections other than by family name, and may not be from the same DNA.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

In Japan, 1st cousins (which could be what Isana and Honoka are to Touta, assuming they are actually related in the normal sense with Negi being grandparent’s to both) are allowed to marry, so it isn’t considered to be much of a taboo there. But if I’m right and Isana and Honoka are just clones, then that makes it a huge wildcard.

      • Kiboujin says:

I also wish for a more sibling relationship between Touta and the twins. Just to freshen it up. I’m sure there will be some perversion because this is UQ Holder though even if that was the case.
I won’t lie. Though I do well to shrug most of his ecchi fanservice, and even giggle at some, the excessive lolli nakedness makes me a bit uncomfortable. I’m just quickly turning the pages and not revisiting these chapters like I do with the others. I can’t wait for this imo stupid race to be over.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

the excessive lolli nakedness makes me a bit uncomfortable.

          I hear ya.

          • arimareiji says:

I hear ya both. In the not-too-distant future, I’m afraid it’s likely that we’ll all have to re-evaluate how we feel about current trends. Many times over the years, I’ve found myself saying (in truth) that an anime/manga is worthwhile despite needless fanservice, but there are some things no degree of skill in storytelling can justify.

I don’t remember the name and don’t care to search it out, but there was one recently that really brought this home – it was based on an idiotic premise of rationalizing the sacrifice of grade-school girls to make imprisoned murderers/rapists/etc happy, and IIRC their parents agreeing to it. Had it been a physical book, it would have richly deserved the Dorothy Parker treatment. (A quote often attributed to one of her book reviews was “This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.”)

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

it was based on an idiotic premise of rationalizing the sacrifice of grade-school girls to make imprisoned murderers/rapists/etc happy

Ugh. There’s no way I could read something like that. I would be physically ill to my stomach as well as suffering from rage at seeing little girls abused, even if in comic form. That’s a far cry from being uncomfortable at some little girl having a romantic relationship with her adult, male teacher (ie: Cardcaptor Sakura).

          • arimareiji says:

Certainly, and I had no intention to equate the two. It was only an extreme example to illustrate that sooner or later, all of us have a line which absolutely can’t be crossed.

If I were to draw a direct comparison, it would be: Excess fanservice is generally distasteful but bearable for the sake of a good story, but in my personal opinion it’s increasingly difficult to rationalize images of girls in high-school… junior-high… grade-school… kindergarten… that appear to be intended as “fodder”. I don’t think UQH stands out very far (if at all) from the field in this regard, but my mental categorization has shifted from “meh, story please” to “*wince* not again, Sensei…”. That’s all. ( ^_^’)

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

            Understood. 🙂

  6. sanchi says:

Tota states: “Mizore Yukihiro… Just who are you…”

    Mizore: “heh,heh”

We are learning more of her ever so slowly.

  7. arimareiji says:

I think I’ve commented here before on what Frank Herbert called the “addict’s dead-end cycle”, and what I would call BiggerBetterMore Syndrome. In the case of Chibi-Setsuna and Chibi-Konoka, it evokes a faint memory of a lyric from Grease:

How low(-li) can you go, how low(-li) can you go

Ah, well. At least animanga hasn’t seriously sunk to the level of Hanamaru Kindergarten yet. Which I will continue to believe, even if someone can cite examples to the contrary. (^_~)

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I liked Hanamaru Kindergarten, at least the anime adaptation.

      • arimareiji says:

Aye, so did I. (^_^) But my point was more along the lines that neither one of us would have liked it if it had seriously sunk to the same level (i.e. treating kindergarteners as sex objects), instead of joking around with the idea and leaving the romantic hijinks to his sister and the other teacher. My apologies, that’s not clear when I re-read it with fresh eyes.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

(i.e. treating kindergarteners as sex objects)

I will say that early on in the anime, I was rather uncomfortable with some of the adult things Anzu said (and her mother seemed to approve of), but by the end of the series, I understood that Anzu was saying and doing things without really knowing what she was saying.

  8. nt122 says:

I found the complete Raw, it’s not too bad. But by the time most see this post it might have been translated by now… but going to try getting eye candy here.

edit; Nope…cant get the image on.. damn. Oh well. it’ll be translated in… ten or so hours from when i write this post anyway

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I haven’t seen a Japanese raw. (I’m betting Chinese or Korean scanlations are out though.)

      • nt122 says:

Yeah, it’s korean, it’s on that site i sent you through facebook the last few times I found it.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

I took a peek at it. I can see why the spoilers were so short and no images have come forth from Japanese sources. (Well, other than the ecchi images.)
