Ah! My Goddess Ch. 267 Manga Review

Ah! My Goddess Manga/Oh My Goddess! Manga
ああっ女神さまっ Chapter 267

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Ah! My Goddess Ch. 267As Urd activates her lightning spell on the battling Banpei-kun and Mokkurkalfi’s mecha, Mokkurkalfi’s shock turns to some relief when it appears to have done no damage.  Skuld orders Banpei-kun to eject both of its captured arms and head and has a new head and arms sent over.  When Skuld reveals that the real Banpei-kun is not in the head of her mecha, Mokkurkalfi decides to have her robot go after the real Banpei-kun segment.  However, she soon discovers that the desiccant packs used by Belldandy and fried by Urd actually caused her mecha’s arms to become useless as they are now welded to the first head and arms of the giant Banpei-kun.

Skuld orders Banpei-kun to attack, which the robot does, knocking his opponent back before going after Mokkurkalfi.  Mokkurkalfi has no time to raise a defensive barrier but is surprised when her mecha grabs Banpei-kun to save her.  Belldandy cites this as proof of the love Mokkurkalfi really has for her creations.  Mokkurkalfi scoffs at this, stating  the only thing she did was to make sure her creations worked.  Belldandy calls that love.  Skuld speculates on how Mokkurkalfi’s mecha could have done this when its control circuit had been broken.  While she compliments Mokkurkalfi’s creation, she says she still hates Mokkurkalfi.

Now defeated, Mokkurkalfi takes off her helmet and eye mask before handing them a key.  Keiichi sees a strong resemblance between Mokkurkalfi and the little girl guide mazoku.  Mokkurkalfi confirms this as said guide is her older sister.

Thoughts/Review:

The fight with Mokkurkalfi now ends which means that the next chapter will likely be setup for whatever the next encounter Keiichi and company will face.

Overall, I really liked this sub-arc as it gave Skuld the chance to be the hero and as I mentioned on previous occasions, confirmed that she does use magic when creating her weapons of mecha, only she doesn’t cast spells.  The resolution to the final problem was pure Fujishima-sensei, right down to the chemistry/physics formula.  *lol*

I did chuckle at Belldandy’s “finishing move” by telling Mokkurkalfi that her creations were filled with love, which combined with Skuld’s compliments and the actions of Mokkurkalfi’s mecha to save Mokkurkalfi, meant that Mokkurkalfi had to consider the impossible.  That too is pure Fujishima-sensei.

Interesting that they made Mokkurkalfi the younger sister of the young girl-looking guide through the underworld.  Not sure if that means she’ll be one of their opponents or not.

Beyond that, there’s not much to say even though I liked the chapter.  I am looking forward to the story moving ahead again.

    apparently they only have enough iron on that desiccant to weld the robot hands… what a let down.

    spoiler alert!
    @ANB: yup the next opponent after this is the tiny big sister ^_^
    but a little “revelation” of k1 and bell relationship will appear first at ch 268…
    i’m starting to believe that this journey is not about hell at all, but about k1 and bell future..

    Hmmm. Well, I’m still way behind. I’ve been told that 270 has already come out. I guess I need to take a look-see and find out what’s going on. ^_^;;;
