UQ Holder Chapter 54 SPOILER Info and Images!

Here is a SPOILER image for the upcoming UQ Holder chapter 54, courtesy of Manga Kansou. (My review of UQ Holder chapter 54 should come out Wednesday.)

UQ HOLDER CHAPTER 54 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder chapter 54 goodness begins.^_^

UQ Holder Chapter 54 SPOILER

Whoa! That’s an unexpected turn.

Hopefully, ChaosProphet will have something soon.  Looks like Sayoko is a very powerful mage, so the comparisons to Eva remain. Why Kuroumaru would attack Touta, it appears that our swordsperson has been possessed, but we’ll learn more when more info comes out. I’ll be sure to add the new information as soon as I get it. ^_^

UQ Holder Chapter 54 update from ChaosProphet:

Seems like Sayoko had access to the data Santa got as she makes a comment regarding Touta regeneration based on it.

Kurou throws the gravitiy blade to Touta who was going to cut both Kirie and Sayoko, but it go through them (same power as Santa?). Sayoko cast (grandmaster level magic according to Ikkuu) 571 dual-element (fire and dark) Sagitta Magica. Ikkuu guards somehow.

Sayoko is going to fly away with Kirie but is cut in half by Kuroumaru with Zanmaken Ni no Tachi. Sayoko scoops the surrounding miasma and regenerates, and she starts looking more ominous.

Zombies reach the roof. Kuroumaru catches Kirie but is bitten by her. Sayoko gets him and ask why are they protecting the humans as they’re also monster themselves. Touta comes by surprise and cuts Sayako in half releasing Kuroumaru.

She throws an unincanted spell (seems like a darkness version of Dios Tukos) at Touta but Kurou defends. The two go attack her but Kurou suddenly attacks Touta. Sayoko developed a zombie virus that also affects the soul so it would also affect immortals. Touta is cut in half. Chapter end.

Sayoko is pretty powerful and clever, although I disagree with some that she’s in Eva and Fate level.

Looking back at this and previous arcs. We have something Akamatsu likes doing a lot in battles, way back from Negima. He makes one side owns the other before they’re able to turn the tables. In some of the longer fights that can happen multiple times (for example the battle against CE in the graveyard on Negima). Fate and slums arcs also had it.

Maybe not, but she seems insane, which gives her a wildcard element.

With UQH, I have the feeling Akamatsu-sensei is going more traditional shounen than he did in Negima when it comes to the fights.

Maybe on other aspects, but not really on the combat flow, it’s the same as Negima. But then that flow isn’t something particularly unique. Other shounen also have it.

I guess we never had a villain like that in Negima that wouldn’t worry at all about collateral damage, killing people and etc. Maybe Tsukuyomi but she never was able to actually kill someone. Kirie reset really lets Akamatsu have his fun with it as he could later reset.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

She was certainly under restraints to kill others. She was a psycho to be sure. She did have her own code of honor, I suppose.

I’ve been saying that for months. :p It’s not just the fights, but Touta himself is more like traditional “Idiot Hero” shounen protags like Goku, Naruto, Luffy, and countless others (see: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/IdiotHero/AnimeAndManga). From what I can recall Akamatsu apparently wanted to do a straight-up shounen series with Negima but had to start it off as more of a rom-com like Love Hina. Now with UQ Holder he can make the traditional shounen manga he always wanted to, where all the more familiar tropes are usually played straight.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

At least with Negima, he plotted a good story until he abandoned it. Things built upon each other starting with volume 3. With UQH, it is more like Fairy Tail (toss out a story arc), but picking up some elements from Negima.

    • Kosmike Katastrophe says:

I can’t see Sayoko being on Eva or Fate’s level because that would severely overinflate the powerlevels especially if Touta used another asspull and beat her. Fate already has the reputation of currently being the most powerful mage there is no way she would be as powerful as Fate and he has ways to deal with ghosts just like how he petrified Sayo before and Eva could just drag her on Phantasmagoria realm or probably just downright bypass her intangibility and hit her like a normal person just like what Rakan and the rest of the people who could hit Negi’s lightning form through sheer “fighting spirit”. But I got to admit I love Sayoko’s elemental affinity, that’s the kind of element Eva should have and not ice as she has the reputation of being a dark mage so far she has only shown to use 2 darkness elemental spells. If I were to judge Sayoko’s level of power then she should be around Dynamis’ level and both of them has an affinity to darkness element and could summon armies of demons/zombies. No matter what I still want to see Eva fight against Sayoko, I don’t think Ken should bother with the people who are complaining that Eva always saves Touta, they always complain about everything and seeing that Ken knows English very well it is possible that he would reads those comments and could probably affect his decisions. I would rather see Eva fight Sayoko rather than Touta.

      • chaosprophet says:

Don’t think she is Dynamis level. He’s also really near the level of Fate/Eva but an more caster focused character. I think she may be at best around the power of Kagetarou (which according to Kotarou was actually over 3K Chiu).

Dynamis (also Kagetarou and Takane) isn’t a darkness user, but a shadow user. They use the shadows as weapons to attack, create monsters to attack, armor themselves etc. They don’t use any actual darkness magic. Darkness and shadow magic is different in Negima.

        • Kosmike Katastrophe says:

You’re right. Haha. I guess I overestimated Sayoko a bit too much. I actually realized that she isn’t that strong after rereading the summary you posted for chapter 54 or her fight against Karin.

I think it would be really funny to see Sayoko fight someone as evil as Dynamis.

I got both shadow and darkness mixed up since they are both so similar in appearance but they are probably related just like ice and water or wind and lightning. So basically only Sayoko so far uses darkness magic as her main element since Eva only uses darkness as her secondary element.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I don’t think we have enough information on Sayoko’s power yet. When the chapter comes out later today, I hope to have a better feel based on what we see.

I would rather see Eva fight Sayoko rather than Touta.

I’d kinda like that as well.

        • chaosprophet says:

While I would love any more Eva, it’s better to not have her coming every time and beating the people Touta and group can’t. If someone would come help, I think it would be better to use that chance to showcase some of the characters we don’t know much about like Makabe or the ones that have yet to appear like Juuzou, vampire shota, etc.

If Eva comes I would enjoy it anyway.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, Eva is a deus ex machina being. But I’d love to see it, more so if we learn more about her supposed weakening.

Aha I see that u wrote “she”

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      I deny everything! 😉

      In all seriousness, thanks for letting me know. I didn’t even realize I’d done that. I’m WAY too tired from work projects, and next week is going to be even more fun. ^_^;
