Genshiken Nidaime chapter 105 Manga Review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Genshiken Nidaime Chapter 105A blushing Sue comes by Madarame’s apartment. He lets her in, where she, still blushing, sits on his bed. It is then that Madarame sees Sue as a woman for the first time, thanks to his recent experience with Keiko. He realizes she’s really his type, and with her sitting on his bed, blushing, he begins to think that Sue wants him to make a move on her.

Sue reaches into the shopping bag she brought and produces handcuffs, after which she cuffs Madarame to the chair. She takes off his glasses and puts on other glasses, including joke glasses, and masks, but she can’t stop blushing when she looks at him. She ends up putting a bag on his head with a single hole for him to look through, where she finally stops blushing. When she puts his glasses back on, she blushes hard again.

Sue pulls a rolled up poster and goes into an attack pose. Madarame asks if she loves him. Sue has tears, saying she doesn’t know. Crying, Sue begs Madarame to date Hato. Madarame realizes she’s confused since he’s not interested in Hato and that Sue has been coming over to stop Hato from getting closer to him. Reflecting on how far he’s come as a man recently, Madarame tells Sue that he can’t since Hato doesn’t have breasts. In turn, she beats him with the rolled up poster, Rurouni Kenshin style.

Thoughts/Review:

Man. I should have known this would have been the outcome. I’m always wanting things that I know I’ll never get. In this case, I was really hoping for a conversation between Sue and Madarame. I was hoping for a bit more background on Sue. As usual, my hopes were in vain. *sigh*

Kio-sensei did go the extra mile in making Sue come off extra cute. For a long time now, I’ve been a Madarame x Sue shipper. So I love a chapter with just the two of them in it. However, this wasn’t the way I wanted things to go. Oh well.

Genshiken Nidaime Chapter 105

Still, this chapter did tell us somethings, or at least I perceive it to have told us some things.

I believe that Sue has never been in love before. I think I’ve said this before, but I do think that initially, she saw Madarame has a yaoi fantasy object, hooked up with Hato. Through that, Sue started seeing Madarame sexually, then romantically. Thus she becomes confused because she doesn’t understand what has happened. So in her mind, the easiest way to resolve this problem is to have Madarame date Hato and have done. Since Madarame doesn’t want to date a dude, and since he said that in a less than tactful way, he gets a beating.

Does this mean that Sue’s off him? It is too early to say, but if Kio-sensei is determined to eventually hook Madarame up with Saki, then Sue’d have to be removed from the equation.

As to Madarame, now that his eyes have been opened to the delights of a real woman, I loved that he saw Sue as a woman. Of course, if Kio-sensei is looking to set Madarame up with Saki, then this would be a milestone on that path.

So while I’m disappointed on one hand, on the other, it is an enjoyable chapter for what it is.

I don’t think Madarame will ever end up with Saki. That’s over and done with, it only exists as a fantasy in the form of Spotted Flower.

    Now to the chapter itself.

I didn’t read it as Sue being angry at Madarame’s breast comment, to me it felt more as an action of extreme embarrasment – to me, it means that Sue realized that Madarame actually sees her as a woman, not just as a weird, foreign otaku girl (something that Madarame confirmed this chapter). Sue realizes that she could actually end up with Madarame in an actual, intimate relationship.
She also sees that her Hato/Mada fantasy is exactly that – a fantasy. Madarame and Hato won’t (probably) ever be a thing, Madarame just isn’t into guys – no matter how feminine they are. I think this is something that Sue will have to struggle with for a while – the unbridgeable divide between fantasy and reality, something Madarame has already experienced.

Well, this has gotten quite long. Good chapter overall, but I wouldn’t mind switching away from Madarame and his harem for a while. Let’s see more of the struggles of Hato and Yajima in the next chapter(s).

I thought that too, especially after the chapters where Saki turns down Madarame. However, I get the sense that Sensei might be paving a road that could lead to Saki x Madarame.

But, assuming this doesn’t happen, I’m still a Madarame x Sue shipper. ^_^

I’m not a fan of Hato, but I do agree here — I’d like to see this conflict and how it gets resolved.

If Sue doesn’t end up with Madarame, I lose all hope for the series XP

*lol* I hear ya. I’m a Sue shipper myself, but I have begun to wonder if Sensei has figured out a way for Madarame to end up with Saki.

Same with me. I think Madarame and Sue would have so much to share with each others.

I’d love it end this way:
Hato x Yajima – an appearance of both genders would “appear” in their couple, but kind of reversed, I love that.
Yoshitake x Kuchiki – idk, they seem to balance each others.
Sue x Madarame – they could be weird together, without fear of judging.

Their counterparts in Spotted Flower are that way.
