UQ Holder Chapter 70 SPOILER Info (Update #1 – Now with images.)

Here is some SPOILER info for the upcoming UQ Holder chapter 70, courtesy of 2ch. (My review of UQ Holder chapter 70 should come out Wednesday.)

UQ HOLDER CHAPTER 70 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder chapter 70 goodness begins.^_^

Here is the spoiler  in Japanese.

And here’s a translation from the ever awesome ChaosProphet.

As Kurobou was about to reveal something to Touta, he is attacked by that person with the strong kill intent. That person refers to Touta as “Onii-san”, which can mean older brother but also can be used by someone to refer to an older male who isn’t too old. Touta seems to be overwhelmed by the enemy, even after activating ME.

Well, ChaosProphet called it about Kurobo (Gravity Blade) getting interrupted before it could say anything.

Some further thoughts from ChaosProphet.

Some wild speculations by me:
If Touta was indeed made by Fate, maybe this person (call him/her X for now) is also someone made by him? Maybe Touta was considered a failure and was supposed to be disposed of while X was supposed to be promising. But then Touta actually end up being the one that worked out (being able to get ME?) and X who had yet to show results is left aside. Then X wants to kill Touta because of that.

Interesting theory.

I’m still secretly hoping for Zecht. I can see him introducing himself to Touta and addressing him as (o)niisan.

Regardless, I suddenly have more interest in the upcoming chapter. 🙂

Updates to follow with images, assuming those come out before the chapter does.

  1. chaosprophet says:

Oh you are correct, he said “Nii-san” rather than Onii-san. Meaning is the same.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, I didn’t see the “o” part of that and from my limited Japanese, I know the “o” is just another honorific to make it more polite. It is a subtle difference, but yeah, the meaning is the same.

  2. Dargor says:

And Astro continues to cling to his theory like the flotsam of a horrible ship wreck, long after the sharks of certainty have already bitten his legs off and left to slowly bleed out.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Heh!heh!heh! Too right you are, sir. 😉 I’m like the Black Knight in the Monty Python movie. 😀

  3. mirouw says:

Also this mysterious character… Can he be the one under the cape in the picture of Uq Holder (except if this is Santa) or the one to the right with bat feathers ?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

It is possible that it is some (future) member of UQH. If this attacker has a connection with the attack on Touta’s parents, then I’d say this lessens the chances of it being someone who gets membership in UQH.

  4. Magnum says:

(Text of Magnum’s remarks were in the URL field and have now been transferred to here.)

i think that He is blonded vampire and he was created by Evangeline. For that Nii-san

  5. NML says:

I’m wondering if Tota was created specifically to fight the LifeMaker and that’s why he has anti-mana. I wonder what would happen to Tota on Inverse Mars since Inverse Mars is made of magic.

    • Seimei says:

Kuromaru is also “made from mana” and he dud nothing happened. Asuna went on reverse-Mars in Negima and did nothing happened not more. You’re unnecessarily complicated brain I think ^^.

Besides, I think Tota has no magic cancellation. When Asuna was using the phenomenon evaporated, it exploded pass to his face. Moreover Tota has NEVER shown no cancellation capacitee whatsoever. However his incapacity to normal magic is known since the first chapter.

I have already said on the topic of the review of chapter 69, and I repeat here, I personally think Tota has the “royal magic”. Or has a side effect of his “innate magia-erebea.”

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

Kuromaru is also “made from mana” and he dud nothing happened.

Kuroumaru is a normal member of the Yatagarasu tribe who was apparently experimented on. So I disagree with the “made from mana” notion here. Spells may have been used to modify Kuroumaru, but that doesn’t make Kuroumaru made from mana.

    • NML says:

It’d be pretty interesting if Touta is a doll, similar to Fate and the other MotB disciples but created by Negi(and probably Fate and Eva too).

Even though sidestick was interrupted, I suspect that the robed figure will know some,if not all, of Tota’s past and will reveal it in the coming chapters. Or maybe he’ll pull a Rakan and only offer Touta information if he defeats.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

It’d be pretty interesting if Touta is a doll, similar to Fate and the other MotB disciples but created by Negi

It wouldn’t surprise me if this were the case.

Even though sidestick was interrupted, I suspect that the robed figure will know some,if not all, of Tota’s past and will reveal it in the coming chapters.

I figure he knows too. Whether he reveals or not is another question.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That’s certainly possible in my mind.

  6. Magnum says:

i think that He is blonded vampire and he was created by Evangeline. For that Nii-san

  7. Chane says:

I think its possible that this mysterious character is the Vampire aristocrat we see standing among the UQ Holder.

One interesting thing to note is that the Gravity Blade said on chapter 69 that it felt “tremendous hunger for blood”. Of course it could also mean the desire for bloodshed or bloody fight, but somehow it seems to give a literal impression of wanting the blood.

If he is really the Vampire Aristocrat, maybe he had yet to join the UQ Holder. Or that he may be a UQ member but probably a lose canon kind of person.

But hey, who knows? He can be anyone. I admit I really wanna see Zect again though, Akamatsu sensei really dropped him off from the whole story.

    • Seimei says:

Here the “blood lust” means “the aura of hostility” or “intent to kill”, a common concept in action manga. ^^

      • Seimei says:

Moreover, even if I thought at first I began to seriously doubt that is truly hooded vampire-boy, I think that was someone else. As against the vampire-boy may well appear anyway during this arc, I think the vampire-boy is the famous “king” (the S rank of the arena).

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think its possible that this mysterious character is the Vampire aristocrat we see standing among the UQ Holder.

That is a pretty popular theory. I think it is a real possibility.

One interesting thing to note is that the Gravity Blade said on chapter 69 that it felt “tremendous hunger for blood”. Of course it could also mean the desire for bloodshed or bloody fight, but somehow it seems to give a literal impression of wanting the blood.

It probably is more about bloodlust for fighting, but it could be more.

I admit I really wanna see Zect again though, Akamatsu sensei really dropped him off from the whole story.

And that’s part of why I’d like to have Zecht back.

  8. OverMaster says:

Like in a cheap soap opera, whenever a game-changing reveal is about to happen, it either comes incomplete and only raising more questions, or it’s interrupted before it can be shown/said. Yeah, this probably won’t work badly at all in the end, much like it didn’t in Negima, right? If the questions only keep piling up and up like this, I have to wonder if Akamatsu has learned absolutely anything at all from previous mistakes, or if he just doesn’t really care anymore.

    • Seimei says:

Uh, yeah, but if you reveal too quickly the information, it’s not better. It’s called keeping the suspense, you seem not to know lol.

Well, jokes aside, what did you expect, that we learn almost everything about Tota in 2 chapters? lol. Anyway I guess, whatever makes Akamatsu, you always find some thing to show that (ONLY in your opinion huh?^^) “Akamatsu done anything and absolutely do not understand.”

But hey, I guess I’ll have to just rejoice that the debates are becoming more interresting here (from chapter 65, there were a lot of interresting theories on this blog ^^), instead of to belabour continuously pursue some haters irreducible, since they seem they are fewer and fewer each passing week ^^

      • Seimei says:

Moreover it is quite possible that the Gravity-blade delivers its revelations after the fight, three or four chapers later, when they will be quieter, it will not necessarily be in three volumes.

And then, as I said earlier, even though I also I wanted to have more revelations I want to see the hooded to work so that I agree. And who knows, maybe that was just him going rveller us what Gravity Blade was going to say?

When the case of the end of Negima, we all know here that is most likely NOT Akamatsu who decided to end if kodensha had left him alone he may well have to leave as much intrigue vaguely resolved. And all the more so importente of them to me (the life-maker and history of the royal clan of Ostia) is likely to be resolved in UQ Holder, so I have no reason to complain, in any way, of the end of Negima (anyway, I’m not much complain about the end, at the time from the end of Negima, even before UQ Holder begins, then… ^^)

So say “I have to wonder if Akamatsu HAS Learned absolutely anything at all from previous mistakes, or if he just Does not really care anymore.” is nothing more than the drivel and misplaced resentment. After it is only the impression it gives me eh?

      • cold_menthol says:

Maybe not everything in 2 chapters or so. :p However, what Akamatsu-sensei did is like continuously giving us questions without answering enough of earlier questions. To describe it, let’s say we get 5 questions in 10 first chapters. Then in the next 10 chapters, we get 5 new questions instead of 2 answer plus 3 new questions.

Sure that’s not necessarily bad, but the problem is, Negima ended early with a lot of unanswered questions (I don’t know the exact reason). I also remember that Negima had a lot of breaks when it’s being published, with the reason being his health (or so I heard).

I just hope the story reach its proper conclusion while sensei is still able to write manga. (no Crayon Shin-chan or Zero no Tsukaima please..)

        • Seimei says:

I did not feel that we have had 10 unanswered questions for me was rather 3 or 4 questions and we had some CAPITALS responses (what happened to the life-maker (it is still active!), where Negi, how apps …) it is not insignificant!

The questions that remain is the secret in the line of Tota and the identity of the hooded. After there is obviously the background of the remaining numbers of UQ (I do not count those who have not yet emerged but that this will be resolved in an arc devoted to each of them is as simple as that.

In the case of Shin-chan, I think is a slice of life manga (thus by definition no beginning or end, strictly speaking). By cons so, the case of The Familiar of Zero is unfortunate, but that the author can not help if the disease (cancer?) Prevailed against him sadly. Eévidement in such cases it is circumstance that does not depend on the will of the author, and I am sure that was such circumstances that precipitated the end of Negima (although there s’ was more of an editorial conflict of Medical ^^).

          • cold_menthol says:

Those numbers are just a figure of speech actually. I think Astro’s response here is better at conveying my thought.

The problem is that Akamatsu-sensei is poking us in the eye, then giggling about it. It is an artificial means of keeping up the suspense rather than a natural one. Many people saw it telegraphed a mile away.

This is exactly what I have in mind in the last part of chapter 69. I almost totally expected that we won’t get Kurobo talking about Touta in chapter 70.

Btw, a SOL story can still have an end, or “to be continued in your heart”. lol. It’s a shame that in Crayon’s case, the author didn’t get to write “end” in the story.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

In Negima, it wasn’t until Theodora revealed she knew something about Arika but couldn’t tell Negi ’cause “reasons” did we get this trolling maneuver. Before that, we learned as Negi learned, and there weren’t people teasing, “I’ve got information that you want. Want it? PSYCHE!”

          • Seimei says:

I was talking about UQ Holder, no Negima.

In addition Negi got this information precisely (was about the fact that his mother was Arika)

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

Uh, yeah, but if you reveal too quickly the information, it’s not better. It’s called keeping the suspense, you seem not to know lol.

No, he knows. The problem is that Akamatsu-sensei is poking us in the eye, then giggling about it. It is an artificial means of keeping up the suspense rather than a natural one. Many people saw it telegraphed a mile away.

    • WMC says:

Ya, OM. In response to your entry of 08:21 above — I read only about one quarter of these eternal entries on UQH, but it’s still obvious that Akamatsu and ANB have embraced Kodansha’s agenda — selling titillating, chaotic black magic and blood lust to suckers.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I hate the trolling tease where the author looks to be about to reveal something, only to pull the rug out from under everyone. It is really annoying.

  9. Aki says:

Sounds interesting… Touta could be a new model by Mage of beginning focused o. The usage of magia erebea or if we go with Chaos prediction, then fate and maybe Eva developed tota for saving negi and this caped stranger is a ver 2

  10. chaosprophet says:

From MK one thing that the 4chan spoiler didn’t mention. While Kurobo wasn’t able to finish what he was saying, X calls Touta a “inferior copy”. Also during the fight X says regarding Touta “that battle intuition irritates me. Even thought it’s not yours”

I’m getting metal gear vibes now. Big Boss Negi?

    • Seimei says:

      Hmm …

      Negi = “Big Boss-like”
      Tota = “Solid Snake like”
      X = “Liquid Snake like”

      ????

I love the gift so things seem to match! Finally the clash against the life-maker will not be the only issue of the manga! There is another enemy! Besides, I would like to know what “X” plans to do about the mage of the begining. Join him or fight him?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Thanks for the additional info. I’m not ready for “Big Boss Negi” just yet. 😉

  11. Dargor says:

Jesus. Why does the maniac asshole look like he’s wielding a bigger version of Asunas sword? For crying out loud, 3-A’s legacy continues to get shat on by psychopathic madmen.

    • Seimei says:

Oh but that’s how “3-In cultist mode” Dargor! Long time!

You’re not the only one who noticed the resemblance, some former players Negima on my french forum are also perceived it. A by that in their case the response was rather enthusiastic.

And not a reaction like: “Oh my god the holy 3-A is still sullied” lol

Well, joking aside, there is NO guarantee that this is the sword of Asuna. This kind of sword géente designated to be found in alot of manga. I even know a character in Shakugan no shana that has virtually the SAME sword (buti forget his name lol) than Asuna and X.

And even if the case has since “X” is a genetic product, it may well have genes Negi, Asuna, Kotaro and Rakan at once!

Other hand, the sword Asuna is an artifact, not a real object. And as Asuna is most likely still alive but sealed, no one can have his artifact until her death.

It can also be an artificial replica of the sword but I not see the point because I think cloning artifact powers should not be very easy or almost impossible.

And me, I love this new character personally.^^

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

For a moment there, I thought it was Asuna’s sword. I had to go look, just to be safe.

      • Dargor says:

It looks more like the ME one they pulled on the Lifemakers projection at the end of the MM arc…which doesn’t do it any favors.

  12. mattcgw says:

I wonder what has happened to the Ariadne knights/Valkyrie, given the whole poor and privileged angle, could the independent state be brought up by the rich in piece’s and the knight’s turned into just trophy protection for the rich.
