UQ Holder Chapter 75 SPOILER Info (Update #3 — now with spoiler images!)

Here is some SPOILER info for the upcoming UQ Holder chapter 75, courtesy of 2ch. (My review of UQ Holder chapter 75 should come out Wednesday.)

UQ HOLDER CHAPTER 75 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder chapter 75 goodness begins.^_^

Here is the spoiler in Japanese (as  best as I can tell).

My Japanese sucks, but it looks like the (preliminary?) tournament goes into full gear, and Touta may be meeting someone who knew Negi. I see a reference to Karin here, but not sure about it.  I get no sense of Kuroumaru nor Kirie being in the tournament. I didn’t expect them to be though since this is supposed to be Touta getting stronger.  I do think Kuroumaru attempted to report Hoodie’s bombing, but only got voice mail (I think).

Well, hopefully the ever gracious ChaosProphet can give us the full scoop if he has time.

In the meantime, I’ll keep my eyes open for more info or spoiler images, should they appear.

Update #1: Rikutan offers this bit of clarification:

Basically, Touta alone enters the underground tournament, enters the A-rank, fights the cat-girl Karen, and then goes up against the 8-armed demon Morborgran, who fought and lost against Negi in MM. Morborgran advises Touta to get a finishing move…

Finishing moves…been there, done that. *_*

Anyway, thanks to Rikutan for this.

Update #2: We now have a spoiler image from 2ch.

UQ Holder Chapter 75

Touta’s finishing move trainer after this fight?

More updates if I get them.

Update #3: Another spoiler image from MK.

UQ Holder Chapter 75

So this must be the Karen mentioned.

OK, chapter comes out tomorrow.

  1. NML says:

I’d be disappointed if Kuroumaru and Santa didn’t try to qualify for the tournament too. Unless Kirie just pays for them to enter, I believe Evangeline only said that she couldn’t pay for Touta, could be a loophole.

I wonder who’s the person that knows Negi, former member of 3A? or someone he met in the Magic World?

    • Seimei says:

In reality Eva has banned all numbers to participate. But I chord with you, “when the cat’s away, the mice dance” as we say in France. I guess she can not say anything against them if they get their qualification via the underground method. ^^

      • NT says:

Well, the only thing Eva banned was Kirie from helping him at all, since she could pay for the entry fee.

But I am pretty sure that Eva KNEW about the underground method so in general, Eva is not telling Touta to not join, but she’s telling him that he needs to get in on his own. With no help.
If that is understandable, then Eva for DAMN sure knows about the homicidal maniac girl who is apparently Touta’s ”Sister’.

See how it works? Touta has no real reason to be in the tournament, but now, he does, because we are going to have a either Negi vs Jack Rakan between Touta and either Fate or Eva, and a blatant Negi vs Fate with the Girl.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

I agree there. That is certainly Eva’s modus operandi. She may have raised Touta for two years, but she was certainly training him to be self reliant.

If that is understandable, then Eva for DAMN sure knows about the homicidal maniac girl who is apparently Touta’s ”Sister’.

Well, if she doesn’t know, she’ll find out real quick.

See how it works? Touta has no real reason to be in the tournament, but now, he does, because we are going to have a either Negi vs Jack Rakan between Touta and either Fate or Eva, and a blatant Negi vs Fate with the Girl.

It sounds like things are being set up for a Touta vs. Hoodie ending. At the moment, I can’t see how Eva and Fate actually remain in the tournament. I can see them being “removed” so that Touta is alone when facing Hoodie. But we’ll see.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I don’t get the sense that they are participating in the underground tournament. If they did, it would take the spotlight away from Touta. I get the sense that Akamatsu-sensei is rapidly speeding things along to get Touta powered up for the big tournament and a rematch with Hoodie.

        • Seimei says:

Unless the tournament is unique in that it is a hybrid tournament where a part of the tournament is is duels and part is team-battles. What Tota be alone for duels I understand that he will alone for the duels but for the team matchs he will be forced to have a good team member. So if in fact, I can see them participate. Anyway the main tournament, after regarding the underground tournament I have more doubts.

          Also :
“I don’t get the sense that they are participating in the underground tournament. If they did, it would take the spotlight away from Touta.”

I feel like a return of your anti-tota sarcasms Astro, I thought the recent developement of his character (Chapters 70 and following) had healed you of this lol

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

I feel like a return of your anti-tota sarcasms Astro,

*lol* Believe it or not, I wasn’t trying to be sarcastic. ^_^;;; What I was trying to say is that this arc is about Touta, not the other characters. Since it is Touta who’s trying to level up, having Kuroumaru, Santa, or Kirie in the tournament takes away from Touta’s storyline. So I figure that only Touta will be in the tournament, and the others will watch, cheer, and otherwise provide support.

    • NML says:

I wonder who will teach Tota a finishing move, maybe that swordswoman from the UQ Holder since they’re both sword users.

I wonder if the trainer will appear in the chapter, I like that we’re going into a training arc.

I hope we don’t skip over the year to the tournament and have some arcs before it.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Well see, but I suspect they won’t be in the underground tournament, and I doubt they’ll be in the big tournament. This is the Touta show after all. 😉

I wonder who’s the person that knows Negi, former member of 3A? or someone he met in the Magic World?

That was revealed in the update.

  2. NT says:

    Using Online-Translator, this is what the thing comes up as, though it could be very wrong so dont hold this to word for word;

    [spoiler][i]Tie

刀太 do not come back to the hiding place, and I aim at the final contest participation with Laszlo, and the actual fighting trains itself
Since an enemy cannot interfere on space,
Kuroumarus being made only as for the report to the report to the public institution and an away program

Because there is not head count as there is a team war
刀太 breaks through an arena under the ground by a personal war and achieves entering A rank
It is cat ねーちゃん, carene that became the first wall there
When I suffer the arena’s first defeat under the ground in A class
It is giant, molar Bourg orchid of eight arms to face 刀太 next
He was the person who knew the leek; but it is no longer there to attract 刀太
Grand “you now necessary thing”…It is so a finisher! 」
刀太 “ひ”… Bringing sure death…Is it the skill? 」

  3. thelittlelama says:

    ETERNAL TOTA FEVER!

    Jack, it is time now.

  4. Mattcgw says:

Maybe touta will learn an AOE gravity technique and overcharge his shundo to beyond the speed of sound. I’m inclined to say to the speed of lighting.

  5. shadow_s_writer says:

I suspect that the Touta next sensei will provide something more important that some finishing move. I think providing more information about Negi will be more important for the storyline. Therefore I expect we will see another face from the past, most likely from mars as I see that teacher as a combat type.

  6. NML says:

Tota learning a finishing move feels like Akamatsu is picking up something he didn’t really use in Negima because I don’t think Negi ever actually learnt a finishing move, he just stuck with Thousand Thunderbolts.

I think that this is an idea that he dropped from Negima, for whatever reason, but now he’s getting to use in UQ Holder.

I hope he doesn’t train on his own, I don’t want Kuroumaru and Santa to fade into the background.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Hmmm…that is a good point. The finishing move did kinda get lost, now that you mention it.

I hope he doesn’t train on his own, I don’t want Kuroumaru and Santa to fade into the background.

I think they’ll be around for the support (cheering in the stands, giving tips on what they’ve seen, etc.).

  7. NT says:

Okay, I am calling it even though the chances are very slim,

the Skeleton Demon guy and that Catgirl/Dragongirl dua will end up being his friends and/or ”training partners’ to get stronger since both will have some sort of thing for touta to have Demon guy; finishing moves.
Duo(I hesitate to say pantiless duo); some sort of move

    There.

Guess we will find out tomorrow.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think that Morborgran may end up helping him train because of the Negi connection.

      • NT says:

Sounds plausible. With this possible team battle stuff, I think though that he might have those two girls on his team along with Morborgran who like you said may end up training him… then we got something.

  8. Aki says:

hmm is karen related to Fates pactio partner who controls space or time…

as for finisher… Touta needs to master Eternal Negi Fever maybe call it the Eternal Touta Fever?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

hmm is karen related to Fates pactio partner who controls space or time…

      Maybe, maybe not.

  9. dominic says:

Damm it he lost a eye

  10. lithkast says:

    Finishing move.

That skeleton guy is Jack Rakan. Bet you he is.

And before anyone says Jack didn’t have that many arms, I counter with he is Jack Rakan. He can have as many arms as he wants. Why? Because he is Jack Rakan.

Seriously. Jack was always going on about a finishing move and how they are so important if you remember. He even went out of his way to create one for negi, which the ingrate never bothered to learn or use.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That skeleton guy is Jack Rakan. Bet you he is.

The skeleton guy is Morborgran, a member of the group of bounty hunters whom Negi defeated to save Setsuna, Kaede, and Nodoka.
