Thoughts/Review:

While I have certainly enjoyed the anime adaptation of the RINNE story much more than the original manga story, unfortunately, the character of Sabato is so evil, Brain’s Base will need to do a ton to make him tolerable. Unfortunately, they aren’t going too far outside the scope of the manga for Sabato’s character.

Kyoukai no RINNE - 10

Brain’s Base has done a great job of setting up the Damashigami and Sabato’s eventual arrival. However, Sabato’s character never gets any real punishment for being so evil as to steal from his own son and saddle his son with massive debt. Instead, Sabato might get a bash on the head, but then he smugly avoids any real attack from Rinne and doubles down on his evil actions.

Kyoukai no RINNE - 10

I hated the character in the manga, and I didn’t find humor in his actions. I’m sure Takahashi-sensei meant for him to be very funny, but he’s not. He’s just someone you want to beat to death, then resurrect him simply so you can club him like a baby seal again.

Kyoukai no RINNE - 10

I don’t remember Tsubasa getting a pendant at the Damashigami Company, but he may have. Obviously, it will lead to some negative consequence.

Kyoukai no RINNE - 10

In the end, I couldn’t enjoy this episode because of Sabato. That’s not Brain’s Base’s problem, but it is the problem of the source material from the manga. Sadly, there’s more Sabato to come, and he only gets worse from here.
