UQ Holder Chapter 134 SPOILER Images

Here is some SPOILER images for the upcoming UQ Holder Chapter 134, courtesy of 2cat.  (My review of UQ Holder Chapter 134 should come out as soon as they appear on Crunchyroll, depending on when Crunchyroll publishes the chapter.)

UQ HOLDER Chapter 134 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder Chapter 134 goodness begins.

UQ Holder Chapter 134UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134 UQ Holder Chapter 134

So it looks like we get the intro to the action and then the aftermath of the action after everyone returns to UQH HQ. And then Cutlass lurking around afterward. I get the feeling that Asuna didn’t so much as resolve the problem as pack it away for a later date. But we’ll see when the chapter comes out.

If there are more updates, I’ll pass them on.

So, the tournament’s cancelled, right? So much for all that buildup.

Also, damn good security system UQ HQ has (and right after a major crisis when they should be at their most careful to boot) if Cutlass can just sneak in at any time she wants to.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I’ve long said that I never believed there would be a tournament. I think the only reason Akamatsu-sensei did what he did was because of Kodansha. I could tell from the writing of the tournament that Akamatsu-sensei really didn’t want to do one since he’d done two in Negima. Been there, done that. So I’m thinking that to appease Kodansha, he tossed them a bone with some tournament action, then sank it when he switched magazines.

Also, damn good security system UQ HQ has (and right after a major crisis when they should be at their most careful to boot) if Cutlass can just sneak in at any time she wants to.

Ha!ha!ha! Very true. They should hire Akane-chan from the My Monster Secret series. 😉 Nothing comes or goes within her territory without her knowledge. (If you haven’t read that, it has become one of my favorite manga titles for humor and an actual fresher take on the harem genre.)

I actually think Evangeline let Cutlass in. It might be easier to take her out while she is not with the rest of Negi’s battle-force, and I suspect Cutlass sneaked into the HQ out of impatience than any kind of strategic reasoning. Plus, if Negi’s team could have intervened, then the HQ would be no defense against Negi Springfield launching an orbital insertion upon it. Since it hasn’t happened, I have to presume that even Negi cannot take Touta from the HQ – he has to wait for Touta to leave the HQ.

What I’m curious about is whether Kirie forced a reset. Because if she didn’t, the elevator has either been severely damaged or outright destroyed, and all those thousands of people implied to have been butchered in the cross-fire during the battles of the last three chapters will stay dead.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

The English release doesn’t suggest a collusion between Cutlass and Eva. We’ll see where that goes.

      • OverMaster says:

        … Kajishima?

        Twice?

  3. dominic says:

Ich think Negi Got sealed away for some time

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Well, Hata reports that Negi is waiting for Touta at the top of the Tower, like Fate used to be. 😆

  4. Bob says:

Looks like Negi is going to wait at the top of the tower for Touta?

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

So it appears. But then does that mean he’s going to be hanging out with Fate in the Tower, waiting for Touta? If so, that makes me think of some Rimmer quotes from Red Dwarf.

Now I know where I’ve seen you two! Weren’t you the double- action centerfold in July’s issue of “Big Boys in Boots?”

And then there’s this (also from the episode Dimension Jump).

Yeah, the sooner we get back the sooner you two can climb into a nice, hot, soapy bath and play “spot the submarine.”

😆 I should be in bed, not thinking about Red Dwarf. 😉

  5. sanchi says:

Could Cutlass be the far right character in the promo group pic? The short blonde haired character wearing the old style bomber jacket? Short and blonde, about the size of Santa. Even Santa looks different now and not in that poncho. Part of me says no, different person but I’m not sure at this point. Gotta wait and see why she’s still around. Since she can stop time, she can evade any security system. I’m also wondering what happened to the rest of the team as in Al, Jack, Nodoka, and Yue.

    • dominic says:

I would say she Could be the hood

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Could Cutlass be the far right character in the promo group pic?

I wouldn’t be surprised to tell you the truth. I never did think that Santa was the person in the image. However, since I have a bad track record of predicting stuff (except apparently the lack of a tournament in UQ Holder), I just signed off on it. It would be cool if she were the one there.

I’m also wondering what happened to the rest of the team as in Al, Jack, Nodoka, and Yue.

      Ditto.

  6. sanchi says:

Re-reading Chapter 132 Negi was asking Tota in front of Eva and Fate to follow his footsteps before Tota’s wish to climbing the tower. Now that the tower is severely damaged, this seems be the quest Tota and crew may be starting. Negi was cut short but mentioned that doing what he requested was the way to discover the results his research (whatever it is) and was going to say something involving Nodoka and Yue. Also there will be times Negi can be himself and that maybe used to consul Tota along the way.

I was wondering what ‘research’ was soo important, and kinda why I was wondering what happened to Yue and Nodoka. Seeing the spoilers maybe what happens in this chapter may give some more information.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

We did get a little info on Yue and Nodoka. Getting to the top of the Tower now returns to the ultimate quest for Touta.

  7. Kiboujin says:

Anyone else feel Santa staring into your soul on the last image?

By Slightly off topic, yet relevant. How in the ever loving hell did Fairy tail sell 60 million?!!!!!!

I always intended to bring this up on new chapter spoiler discussion.

The oricon data doesn’t support it, at all. Unlike attack on titan, which does.

Fairy tail only exceeded 20 million recently, but the sales have stagnated and remained consistently the same. (sorry for the GameFAQ’s, link but Google wasn’t being nice nor was anime news network. Even though there mobile game had announced 25 million in print in 2015?)
    https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/2000121-anime-and-manga-other-titles/66899871

The data thus far places Fairy Tail at 30 million at the end of 2016. Which means via sheer mental gymnastics, that fairy tail would have to of sold 30 million outside of Japan, which you’d think Kodansha would say something about that. Especially since Naruto, had only sold about 4.5 million in the US as of volume 46, in 2011 (that figure was on the back of the US Volumes)

So either oricon is is off by a catastrophic amount or someone fucked up humongously, and should’ve put 36 million (which is the most logical number, if not hiro Mashima can just quit being a mangaka) or kodansha are money laundering/embezzling.
Thoughts on this, would be appreciated.

I don’t know what to tell you since I don’t know where they are getting the 60 million number.

To be honest, I think the past few chapters has basically been a preview Boss Fight, where the UQ Holder cast are generally under-leveled to have any realistic chance of winning. Dragging the battle out for a little under 40 seconds so as to force a certain outcome? Yes. Winning? No. Touta’s Nakama probably needed Dana’s full ten year training course at the bare minimum to probably even have a shot at carrying out Touta’s plans – at least, this seems to me to be what this fight demonstrates.

I actually wonder what were Mana’s other contingencies in the event the tournament proceeded and Negi Ialda was present. If the entire tournament itself is cancelled however, those plans have definitely been thrown out of the window.

Finally, part of the problem with UQ holder right now is that Touta is quite likely trapped within the HQ. Were he to leave, Negi will simply launch an orbital-drop right onto Touta’s position. But Touta needs to leave the HQ to advance the plot further, so I wonder how Akamatsu is going to go about it. Basically, Evangeline’s instincts to keep Touta inside the HQ were probably correct – Lifemarker Negi descending from the skies with his battle lineup was probably Evangeline’s worse case scenario, one they barely got out off thanks to Asuna.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

You are correct. And depending on UQ Holder manga sales after the anime comes out, that fight will either be brought back out fairly quickly or it will be delayed for a while.

Vol 7 is out in german Can Not weit for vol 13 the cover for vol 12 is nice

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I have a stack of unread volumes on my one shelf. I need to see those numbers to see where we are in the U.S.

Just out of curiosity, do the German editions use Japanese honorifics?

  12. OverMaster says:

There should be an extra Negima chapter next week.

    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2017-03-08/negima-school-rumble-get-new-1-shot-manga-on-march-15/.113135

I’m not expecting for any more than the pointless Love Hina quickie we got with Negima, but I guess it’s still better than nothing.

Also, hey, the Chibi-Setsuna-granddaughter-clone has wings.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, I’m interested in seeing that. I would LOVE for Crunchyroll to publish it, but I doubt they do. 🙁 Also, I want to see the School Rumble special.

Also, hey, the Chibi-Setsuna-granddaughter-clone has wings.

I was happy to see that.

  13. Mattcgw says:

It took alot longer than usual for the chapter to appear on Kindle; typically it’s around 1AM when it does.
Shrugs, furthermore into the apathy abyss.

Liked Mizore demanding an explanation for the ‘Man of Steel’ collateral damage. Then, again she is my favourite character, hopefully she gets an OVA with the Anime.

Isana having Setsuna’s Taboo wing colour is alarming, considering that she is a hypothetical second generation descendant of Setsuna. Alongside, the power up implications of Super Touta.

Why am I reading this still?! I want to see how long it takes for Konoka to Cameo, which will years at this point or the anime will beat Akamatsu-Sensei to the punch.

    • OverMaster says:

If Konoka were still alive odds are she’d have shown up with the sisters, much like Ayaka did with Mizore.

I just read this in 4-chan from two different posters, I’m wondering if it’s accurate?

      Quote:

Ken went monthly because he’s getting older, and he doesn’t have a 50 man team like he did with Negima, he’s down to less than 5 people in total.

      Quote:

Then again, going from 20 assistants to 5 can be tiresome

I’m not asking about his age, but about the loss of assistants. I have no idea whether he lost 15 staffers or 45 (the latter does seem a bit exaggerated), or if the posters are just talking nonsense, but if any of the former, yikes, that’s quite a drop. What happened in that studio anyway?

      • mattcgw says:

        @OverMaster
One could speculate that the sales drop is hurting, especially since UQ Holder is a dying brand, as noted by myself via Oricon numbers (which don’t have to precise, only consistent in demonstrating sales trends for manga series as whole) and Negima Bait has completely imploded onto Akamatsu-Sensei’s face, as UQ Holder is no longer Newcomer friendly/Stand alone.
I’m also relatively certain that one his more talented assistants is working for Hiro Mashima.

This was never introduced as a part of mavis’s placement beneath the guild, it carries much of the same design themes as lifemaker and the gravekeeper’s palace.
Also, that another one his assistants was/is Kōhei Horikoshi (All Might bare’s a hell of a lot of similarities with Jack Rakan)
My Hero Academia started in Jump n 2014, so the gap makes, my theory(s) possible.

I also assume, that Sensei being a veteran would get a Minimum income guarantee, that cover most expenses, in general. which would have to be the case. Because QU Holder’s quality shows nothing but deterioration.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I don’t think he ever had fifty. How could he afford a staff that large. I think his staff is about the same as Negima. My understanding is that Akamatsu-sensei pays for his assistance out of his cut of the money Kodansha pays him.

It is true that Akamatsu-sensei is getting older, and there’s no doubt the monthly format better suits him since it is less pages per month. That said, I suspect that Akamatsu-sensei didn’t go over to the monthly format willingly. UQ Holder hasn’t done all that well. Shifting to the monthly format allows Kodansha to keep pushing UQH (as evidenced by the announced anime), give Akamatsu-sensei less work per month, and hopefully sales of UQH in a monthly form will improve.

But that’s just how I see it.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Liked Mizore demanding an explanation for the ‘Man of Steel’ collateral damage.

      Hahaha! Excellent analogy.

Isana having Setsuna’s Taboo wing colour is alarming, considering that she is a hypothetical second generation descendant of Setsuna.

If she’s a clone of Setsuna, then it makes perfect sense.
