Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 33Aya feels crushed at learning Nasa is married to Tsukasa. She recalls falling in love with him after he solved a complex math problem on the board. Arisugawa-san has some fun at her daughter’s expense. She encourages Aya to cut her hair and move overseas to recover from this heartbreak, providing she pays for her own expenses. Aya protests, leading her mom to angrily remind Aya that Aya’s father ran off with some young girl.

Kaname apologizes to Nasa about the situation. Nasa feels bad for not realizing Aya had feelings for him. Kaname tells Nasa that he has nothing to feel bad about since Aya didn’t have the courage to confess to Nasa. Aya ponders Kaname’s words and realizes she’s right. As such, she offers her congratulations to Nasa.

With that, Aya decides to become a YouTube streamer and go by the name Ayapi. Kaname thinks this is a terrible idea.

Thoughts/Review:

Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 33 is an even shorter chapter than chapter 32 was, but it completes the ending of the harem aspects to the manga.

Aya’s First Love

We learn that Aya fell in love with Nasa when they were 10. During the eight years sense, Aya didn’t have the courage to say anything. Considering who Nasa is and how he helped Aya’s family, I suspect that had Aya said something years ago, Nasa would have accepted her feelings.

As to Aya’s heartbreak recovery plans, I was amused by them. I’ve actually marveled at how some folks on YouTube can make their entire living just producing videos on YouTube and live streaming themselves playing a game. It becomes even more amazing when a YouTuber can get over a million followers doing videos about a single game franchise’s intricate lore details. I don’t begrudge him at all as he found a niche a decade ago and gets paid for his content.

I wonder if Hata-sensei will allow Aya to sometimes appear as Ayapi as Hata-sensei makes commentary about some game or other. That could be fun.

The NTR’d Mom

Arisugawa-san (still no given name provided by Hata-sensei) smacked as a troll in chapter 32. For Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 33, this comes off even more. I laughed at how she cut off Aya’s flashback. It was funny to me to see how she encouraged Aya to cut off her hair and move overseas (at her own expense, of course) in order to get over Nasa.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 33

The thing that amused me most is learning that Arisugawa-san got NTR’d by some super young girl (I presume a high school girl). It isn’t that I found it funny that Arisugawa-san is a victim of NTR, but rather that Hata-sensei just dropped this on us out of nowhere. I’m kinda curious to know when this happened.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

Time to wrap up my review of Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 33.

  • Again, we have another short chapter, even shorter than chapter 32. I suspect that Hata-sensei got behind and just turned in what he had, then turned in the rest of the chapter for 33. ?
  • No Tsukasa immortality clues. In fact, outside of the chapter splash page, there was no Tsukasa.
  • I wonder if “Ayapi” is a parody reference.

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 33 finishes the deconstruction of the harem elements in the manga. Now onto some new fun for Tsukasa and company.
