Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Tsukasa brings up the issue of their dirty laundry. Nasa doesn’t get that Tsukasa is embarrassed to have him see her underwear until she comes out and say it. Kaname calls Tsukasa to see some additional old games, so Tsukasa leaves. Nasa comes up for a reason to touch his wife’s dirty clothes, taking a moment to sniff them. Kaname returns in time to catch him. Nasa is embarrassed, but Kaname expresses relief that Nasa is a man.

Eventually, Nasa and Tsukasa walk hand-in-hand to the Arisugawa Laundry laundromat. Nasa reflects on how his clothes are being washed with Tsukasa’s. He then takes note of the fact that Tsukasa is wearing a tracksuit. Nasa learns that Tsukasa is not wearing underwear under her clothing due to everything being dirty or burned in the fire.

Tsukasa is embarrassed by this, but Nasa suddenly wants to embrace his cute wife. However, since Kaname had earlier teased him, Nasa decides to just go for a picture instead. Meanwhile, Kaname looks through photos on a phone of Nasa.

Thoughts/Review:

And now, it is time to do the laundry in Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 35.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 35

Adventures in Laundry

Its funny how Hata-sensei took something as mundane as doing laundry and turned it into a humorous manga chapter. Naturally, we have to get the obligatory scene where the guy sniffs the girl’s clothing, only to get busted at this. Kaname is so great at constantly catching Nasa in extremely embarrassing moments like this.

Nasa’s reaction to Tsukasa wearing nothing under her tracksuit was hilarious. With Kaname having earlier teased Nasa about the possibility of him getting it on with Tsukasa that night, Nasa passed on hugging and kissing his wife. Yeah, I get that in real life, a man would have gone ahead and grabbed his wife. But this is a shounen manga, so instead, I’m rather enjoying the grin on my face over Nasa’s reactions and his decision to take a photo of Tsukasa.

As an aside, I sure am glad I don’t have to use a laundromat. At least Nasa and Tsukasa had each other to help pass the time.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

Time to wrap up my review of Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 35.

  • The chapter splash page shows Tsukasa somewhere between the 1920s and 1930s. I’m not sure if the washing machine in the image is a legit brand or something Hata-sensei made up. However, it looks like a Thor electric washing machine from around 1935.
  • Interesting that the Arisugawa family owns a laundromat. But that helps pay the bills.

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii chapter 35 is a humorous chapter dealing with a mundane task of washing clothes.
