Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Chitose’s maids Charlotte and Aurora drag her to the theme park where Nasa and Tsukasa are. Chitose doesn’t want to be there until she sees Nasa and Tsukasa having fun. At a restaurant at the theme park, Tsukasa suggests they go for the buffet, but they pick foods the other would like. Nasa goes for curry, shrimp, and desserts. Tsukasa goes for a well-presented meal. Nasa is embarrassed by his choices, but Tsukasa already knows what kinds of foods he picked.

After lunch, Nasa takes Tsukasa to the place where folks get their picture taken with the park’s mascot. Tsukasa is very happy to hug the fluffy mascot character. Nasa is very happy that Tsukasa is happy. Once they leave, Charlotte knows that Chitose wants to hug the mascot as well. And so she does.

During the fireworks display, Nasa suggests they come again. Tsukasa agrees, but suggests other places as well, since they are married. Chitose observes this and decides to leave.

Thoughts/Review:

In Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 58, Hata-sensei finishes his romp in the theme park.

Theme Park Stalking

I can’t help but like the trio of Chitose and her two maids. Chitose fills the role of the tsundere tsukkomi, which makes her amusing. Charlotte comes off as a bit of a bimbo, but I suspect that’s an act. She seems to enjoy stirring the pot for her own amusement. And Aurora seems mostly along for the ride.

I think the one element that puts Chitose above others in her trope of character types is her ability to be mature when she has to. For example, even though she opposes Nasa and Tsukasa’s marriage, she never once interrupted their date. And at the end of the day, she left without confronting them or making her presence known. I like that part of her as well.

Buffet Game

I like buffets, though the only one I seem to go to anymore is an Indian place. And that’s usually so I can have two curries instead of one. (It was chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo on my last visit.) So I had to laugh when Hata-sensei stated in  Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 58 that going for the curry in a buffet is a mistake. Of course, he means Japanese curry in a Japanese buffet line.

Still, Tsukasa’s game of choosing a plate full of food for the other person to eat is not one I’d heard of. And frankly, its not one I’d really like to engage in with a girlfriend or wife. After being with her for a while and knowing her tastes, sure. But this early in a relationship, not so much. 😅

As an aside, I’m going to have to find a Japanese buffet place if I return to Japan.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

One final note–I couldn’t help but notice that Hata-sensei kept featuring the old clock tower from Hayate the Combat Butler (or so it seemed to be). Not sure if he’s saying something more or not.

Still, in the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 58 is a fun chapter that wraps up Nasa and Tsukasa’s visit to the theme park. Chitose and her maids help notch the humor aspects up.
