Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.2
Fly Me to the Moon: Tonikaku Kawaii 2

Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

The gossip-loving boy, who often chats with Tsukasa, is amazed that she recovered from her deadly illness. Tsukasa smugly blows off his amazement and resumes her work. While attempting to get some herbs on a cliff ledge, she falls off said cliff. Upon hitting the valley 100s of feet below, she finds she’s unharmed from her fall, which should have killed her.

As Tsukasa ponders this, she suddenly remembers that the burning sensation she felt after her father gave her the medicine that cured her. As such, Tsukasa decides to test a theory and uses her wakizashi to slice her wrist. However, the cut instantly heals. The astonished Tsukasa races home to confront her father. She learns that she’d been given the immortality potion Hourai Exlixir.

Thoughts/Review:

For, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.2 (Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 2), we get a shortened,  14 page spread. While I’m glad for more backstory, the reduced page count does impact what can be told.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.2

Tsukasa’s Backstory Part 2

While Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 2 performs the important task of providing exposition as to what happened to Tsukasa immediately following her cure, I really felt the reduced page count. Granted, I’m not sure what four more pages would have done for the story. However, as I read the chapter, I felt like there should be more, if that makes sense.

That aside, Tsukasa going from smugness over her miraculous recovery to convenient fall off a tall cliff did feel a bit like divine retribution for being smug. Once again, Tsukasa has to prep for death, only this time, having mere moments to do so. And as before, she survives the impossible.

During Tsukasa’s flashback to where her body appeared to be on fire, burning away her flesh, I wonder if that actually happened, or if that’s just what it felt like for her.

It will be interesting to see how Iwakasa deals with his daughter confronting him. I can certainly understand his desire to heal his daughter.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.2 / Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 2 continues looking at Tsukasa’s backstory. The chapter is short, and I could feel that for some reason. I think the next chapter will have more impact when Tsukasa confronts her father.
