Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

SANZENIN Nagi (Hayate the Combat Butler) announces Hata-sensei’s 20th anniversary as a mangaka. Hayate asks why they are doing this when this is supposed to be a Tonikaku Kawaii manga chapter. Maria confirms this is what is going to happen.

After discussing the celebration, Nagi reveals that one of Hata-sensei’s early manga submissions was Thunder Goddess Sofia. Sofia-chan would actually a giant robot. One of the main characters in this manga was going to be YUZAKI Tsukasa-chan. But since the manga was relegated to a one-shot, Hata-sensei decided not to use her. However, her character was pretty much the same as in Tonikaku Kawaii, except she wasn’t married.

After the Hayate the Combat Butler characters finish their do, Nasa chats with Tsukasa on the engawa. Tsukasa wonders if in some alternate universe, she’s piloting a giant mecha, driving away aliens invading Earth.

Thoughts/Review:

Basically, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 208 was an advertisement for his 20th anniversary celebration as a mangaka back in October 2022. Clearly, Hata-sensei has a special love for the characters of Hayate the Combat Butler. That makes sense, seeing as how this was his breakout series. However, it does break the flow of Tonikaku Kawaii. Not that Hata-sensei hasn’t done that before, even within Hayate the Combat Butler.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 208

Two interesting things came out of the chapter. First was the news that Tsukasa was a recycled character from Thunder Goddess Sofia. Second, Hata-sensei wants Thunder Goddess Sofia published as a proper series. I suppose that’s something we can look forward to in the future. I just hope that Hata-sensei returns to Ad Astra Per Aspera.

Otherwise, not much to say about Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 208.
