Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Tsukasa notices she is getting ill, even though after she gets up and around, she feels better. A little boy meets her in the woods and talks about Kaguya, her suitors, and the emperor. Based on Kaguya’s reported requests of her suitors, Tsukasa believes Kaguya didn’t really want to get married.

Meanwhile, Kaguya informs the emperor that she has to return to the moon on the night it is next full. The emperor doesn’t understand. However, he decides that if people from the moon are coming to take Kaguya away, then the emperor’s troops will fight them. Kaguya informs him that the fight would be hopeless, costing many human lives.

On the night of the half moon, Tsukasa’s illness is worse so that she coughs up blood. Her father enters and discovers the truth. Tsukasa tries to reassure him. However, she knew she would die soon. Some night later, Tsukasa accidentally bloodies up her new hair clasp. She ponders the meaning of life. Further, she laments not exchanging names with the man she helped (the emperor). But most of all, she doesn’t want to die.

And so depressing things begin to happen with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 203.

Turn for the Worse

Tsukasa’s illness rears its head in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 203. It is rather sad to see, even though we know what becomes of her. And since her father works for the emperor, he’s in the capital, so Tsukasa is all alone. That solitary time meant time to think, knowing that she had very few days left to live. But it is a shame that Tsukasa has to be alone. 😥

In present, I know Tsukasa wears a hair clasp like the one the emperor gave her. I’m wondering if it regenerates with her since it was infused with her blood.

That aside, the other turn for the worse came from Kaguya’s story. She had to break the bad new to the emperor of her departure. As such, he’s now planning a futile fight. I wonder how Hata-sensei will deal with that, beyond the emperor getting the elixir from Kaguya.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

I know this is rather a rubbish review of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 203. The nature of the chapter depressed me. Plus I have work to do. 😅 Still, this is a dark path we must follow as the backstory for Tsukasa and Kaguya play out.
