Much like all music I listen to, there’s not a single group where I can say, “man, I love everything they do.” Generally speaking, its a song here and a song there. Japanese music is no different, though there are some groups where I’ve liked a few things they’ve done, such as the Japanese gansta rap group, Nitro Microphone Underground.
Anyway, while I realize that such music won’t be to everyone’s taste, I decided I’d share a song of theirs which had recently come to my attention, entitled Ikkai Kokkiri (Isshou no Onegai), or in Japanese, イッカイコッキリ(一生のお願い). The rap version does have a few English profanities (even in Japan, you can’t be gansta without English profanities, apparently) so be warned about that. I’ve also included the instrumental version.

Oh, this song is from their album, The Laboratory.
Ooh, Nitro Microphone Underground! I haven’t heard from them in awhile.
I originally heard of these guys a few years back on the Full Moon Show podcast that broadcasts on CKLN in Toronto.
The hosts at the time played a lot of Japanese, Korean, Filipino hip-hop, R&B, reggae and pop.
The song I liked was called Straight from the Underground. Their flow was phenomenal!

I’ve heard that song. It wasn’t my favorite but I do have a couple of other songs from NMU that I do rather enjoy. They are good rappers in terms of flow though. ^_^
There are a few bands that i personally love everything they do. Maybe i get obsessed to easily, such as 12012 or The Gazette. I have heard NMU before but unfortunately its not my cup o’ tea. i am glad you found something you like though!
The rap version is gone because the user closed their account. 🙁

I’ve not heard of 12012 or The Gazette. I should look them up, I suppose.

GAH! Well, shoot. I haven’t purchased the CD yet so I can’t upload it. I’ll try to do that when the budget allows (which has been blown on new camera and PC).
NMU is one of my favorite japanese hip hop group. They keep it real unlike other artist that turned pop for the sake of money and fame.
They’ve got a good sound. I can’t speak to “keeping it real” due to my poor Japanese knowledge. ^_^;
Man, I never did get around to trying to make a replacement for the rap version. *_*
