魔法少女リリカルなのはStrikerS(ストライカーズ)Ep. 16
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS Episode 16
SPOILER Summary: It is the night before the press conference and Nanoha, Vita, Rein, Mary, Caro, Elio, Subaru, and Tia (and maybe Ginga) are dispatched for guard duty. Vivio gets Aina-san to take her to see Nanoha prior to her departure. Nanoha promises to return on the following day and leaves her with Fate and Aina-san. On the flight, the talk of everyone is Vivio and how Nanoha could officially adopt her. Nanoha states that there’s still a search for a home to place Vivio in, though she admits that she would be happy keeping Vivio. However, she wants whatever is best for Vivio. Meanwhile back at their apartment, Fate explains as best she can her relationship with her real mother Precia (and sister Alicia) as well as her adopted mother Lindy. As if on cue, Lindy calls, wanting to see both Fate and Vivio if the press conference weren’t the following day.
Back at the HQ, Tia brings some tea out to Vice. She’d done some research on him and discovered he’d been an “ace mage” at some point. Vice appears troubled that Tia would check into his past. As far as he’s concerned, he’s now a helicopter pilot, not a mage and he’s a bit cold in how he tells Tia this. She gets the message and takes off. Meanwhile, Nanoha leaves her Device (Raising Heart) with Subaru since the mages working the inside aren’t being allowed to carry their Devices. Fate, Signum, and Hayate will be leaving their Devices outside as well. As Vita patrols outside with Caro and Elio, she telepathically communes with Nanoha, trying to figure out a reason for an attack, including the remote possibility of a coup d’état. In the end, Nanoha figures they shouldn’t think too hard on it since she trust the orders given to her by her superiors.
Outside, Zest and Agito are preparing for an attack. Agito stayed with Zest to give him protection since Lutecia, at another location, has her bugs and is summoning Gadgets. The Numbers are in place and Doctor Scaglietti gives the order to attack. The Numbers are able to issue a massive assault on the HQ building, including taking out support staff inside and jamming communications, including telepathic ones. General Geis is informed of the attack, but refuses to stop the conference, feeling the defenses are good enough to keep out any attack. However, as Quattro notes, observing all that’s going on including the general, keeping them sealed in is what they want.
Vita and Rein are going to intercept the inbound attackers, going into unison mode along the way while the rookies attempt to make contact with the 6th members inside to give them their devices. After Vita and Rein combine, they issue a warning to the incoming attackers, which are Agito and Zest. Agito hears Rein and when Vita-Rein attack, Agito makes an emergency unison with Zest which saves his life. On the ground, some of the Numbers are waiting and Subaru is ambushed. Thus the rookies attempt to get the devices to Nanoha and the others is thwarted.
Lutecia is given information from Uno about the unconfirmed location of the Relic(s) and Vessel of the Saints (Vivio?). Aina-san carries Vivio to an evacuation point, escorted by Zafila. Within the sealed HQ building, there is much chaos, but Nanoha has a plan and Fate is with her. Since the elevators are down, the two use their combat training to “ride” the elevator cables down on their hands, using their magical abilities. In his lair, Doctor Scaglietti observes as Uno continues to direct the battle.
Thoughts: Even if only a cameo, I liked seeing Lindy again. I liked how the writers addressed the issue of Fate’s real mother and Lindy, who adopted her. I guess that the woman with Chrono and the kids in the big family photo is his wife and children.
Vivio is such a sweetheart. ^_^
Having a bit of Vice’s background discussed in how he was a mage seems like table setting to me.
From a Japanese perspective, I wonder why the Numbers address Lutecia as “ojousama,” which is usually reserved for daughters of rich and powerful people.
We finally have the start of the attack which carries on into the next episode. There’s nothing really surprising here. Bad guys get the drop on the good guys despite the preparations. I figure the good guys will kick some keester next week.
That said, I still enjoyed the episode.

2 questions…
1. Would be “Thoughts” about Nanoha and Nanoha A’s posted here, or they were posted in some other blog, or they wouldn’t be posted at all?
2. Do you still need manga of them or already found links?
And standart for me… sorry for the bad english, i’m certinly nonnative speaker/writer…
(1) The “Thoughts” are about the specific episode, which in this case is StrikerS (each episode has its own “Thoughts” section). I have seen A’s as well as the first Nanoha series so there could be remarks as those relate to StrikerS.
Regardless, the thoughts are my own and should not be on another blog or site. I allow partial feeds, so it is possible the comments and the first bit of the summary could appear somewhere, but that should then be linked back to here (if this makes sense).
(2) I did find the manga, thanks. ^_^
Thanks for writing. ^_^
Emmmm… I mean… Will be feedback on fist 2 published or no?
Ah. Well, I’ve already watch them, so I won’t be blogging about them. That said, I did write reviews for both Nanoha series which you can read (just look for ‘AstroNerdBoy’ on those review pages).
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha review
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s review
Hope that helps. ^_^
Gah! I forgot to have those links open in new windows, so you’ll have to manually do it. Sorry. ^_^;;;;
Nice revievs… But 1st one certainly need revised edition after A’s & A’s manga (about training – they didn’t show it – but it was there all the time). About RH and Yuno though… he simle can’t use it properly because of low magic lewel (Nanoha & Fate stated to have very high ML) or may be magical affinity… and that is truth or he would be using it in full mode in the start of the first episode. + I don’t believe that he would try to take it back from the girl he has a crush on + the one who he used in his own problems.
PS. About “very understanding” family – Nanoha is used to be by herself which is clearly stated in the flashback and from the family backstory and family business it’s clear that on who can live by him/herself can do so. (For family busines thing there is Toraha – which is certainly alternative world but not by that many).
Wow. You clearly are a fan of the Nanoha franchise and know a great deal. ^_^ At some point, I’d like to go back and rewatch the first two series. It has been a long time since I last watched them.
>You clearly are a fan of the Nanoha franchise
Yep. And Negima manga too. So it’s possible not the last of my stupid comments 🙂
>At some point, I’d like to go back and rewatch the first two series.
IMHO the best thing is do that using manga chapters and sound stages to fill empty spaces (the problem for me is that i know that there are some fansubbed soundstages somewhere… and i don’t know where they are 🙁 What a shame…) And they are important in times…
Well, I look forward to reading any comments you have about Negima! then. ^_^
BTW, in the bridge manga between Nanaha A’s and StrikerS, how many chapters are there? I have three for A’s to StrikerS and three for Starting Stars. Was that all there were in the bridge manga?
I don’t divide on “prequel” & “strikers” manga. And for you… out of 11 translated chapters all are before ep.16-17 of strikers anyway…
PS. There was also 12 somewhere, but i’m not sure where to get it…
I’m just wondering if I have all the manga that officially bridged the A’s series with the StrikerS series.
Just search “AS-Nano Nanoha Strikers” at tokyotosho and download 5 other chapters… They are between episodes anyway… And understanding of Strikers anime is much better with them.
OK. Looks like I already had chapter 9, though I must have downloaded it from a file storage place. I’ll score the rest and keep an eye open for chapter 12 then.
