Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 128 Manga Review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Sting, Rogue, and Natsu loom over the large, muscular, defeated leader of the Gagarock Miners’ Guild. After getting information on where the alchemist guild Gold Owl is, Natsu is ready to go there. Minerva stops him, and the members of Sabertooth, sans Yukino, continue to beat the miners and destroy their guild. In the process, they learn the location of all of Natsu’s teammates.

This amuses Natsu and he decides to assign the members of Sabertooth as literal replacements for Team Natsu. He no longer feels the urgent need to rescue his friends as Natsu feels they can take care of themselves. However, as members of Sabertooth speculate on what they might be doing to Lucy, he decides to find her, with Lucy-Yukino and Happy-Sting in tow. Minerva and Rogue are set to go after the others.

Meanwhile, the photo with Lucy and Erza gets hung on the wall of the old man. He reveals that he plans to extract their magical powers as alchemical ingredients. Elsewhere, the old lady has Lucy and Happy in a cell. The old woman noisily and weirdly eats a baked potato and lets them know Gold Owl wants Fairy Tail members.

At the same time, Rogue uses his abilities to sneak into Gold Owl HQ. There, he finds Gray, Wendy, and Charle (Carla) bound.

Thoughts/Review:

I have to admit, I got a chuckle out of Sabertooth going nuts in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 128. In addition, it amused me to see Sabertooth characters as Team Natsu replacements.

That aside, the chapter still doesn’t clear up exactly how everyone in the town knew about Fairy Tail. So I presume Sai did this off screen. I also don’t understand why the mining guild would know the location of everyone held captive, except as an excuse for the destruction gag.

Still, while Sai is apparently going to go around and collect Erza, Jellal, Lucy, and Happy, the old man that captured Erza and Jellal seems to have other motives besides Gold Owl mandates. We’ll see if he’s some sort of alchemist as well since he wants to turn their magic into an alchemy ingredient.

Anyway, with Rogue’s shadow form inside Gold Owl, I’m guessing we are about to cue up a fight.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, there are some amusing bits to Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 128. And the table continues to be set for the big fight to come.
