I got a look at the first four episodes of Sasami from FUNimation. Unfortunately, what I got was in English only (no Japanese audio or subtitles available), which as you guys know, I’m not a dub fan. Still, it is a privilege to get this kind of sneak peek so I won’t complain.
While FUNimation didn’t go for child actors as the Japanese did for Sasami and company, the voice actors do work hard to try to sound like young girls. No problems there, I guess. I did notice that some of the names are whacked in the English. “Roy-oh-ki?” It is pronounced “Ryo-oh-ki” (technically “RyΕoh-ki” but this is the English dub we’re talking about). “Sa-su-mi” instead of “Sasami?” Weird. Still, I doubt English dub people will care much about that.
The oddness aside, this series is cute and one that I look forward to seeing in its entirety. I’ll review the first series once I score the complete DVD set from FUNimation. Thanks to the Tenchi Brand Manager for sending me the sneak peak. ^_^

You misspelled “Ryo-ohki.” π
Yikes! That’s what I get for making a post just before going to bed. Thanks for the correction. ^_^
