Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Kaguya recalls showing off her armored creation to Hakase, prior to the start of filming. In the now, Kaguya is unhappy with Tsukasa’s performance. She consults with Hakase and learns who Tsukasa and Nasa are. Kaguya activates a loud scream, which Tsukasa likens to the scream of someone feeling an intense amount of pain and regret.

The headless armor charges at them, causing Nasa to panic. Tsukasa is not phased. As such, she grabs a sword from one of the many suits of armor in the hall and stands her ground. The headless armor attacks with two swords, which Tsukasa easily fends off. Kaguya is forced to have her creation retreat and drop a smoke screen. Nasa is amazed by this, and Tsukasa is ready for the headless armor’s attempt to get behind her.

Kaguya is unhappy that Tsukasa is managing so well in the darkness. Outside, Hakase is disappointed her horror film has turned into an action piece. Back in the mansion, the headless armor retreats. Tsukasa is fired up, leading Nasa to ask why she wasn’t scared. Tsukasa’s reply is that she doesn’t want to lose.

A double door opens and a giant centipede emerges to attack. Nasa freaks again and even Tsukasa is stunned. However, Hakase is not amused.

Thoughts/Review:

I’ve long believed that Tsukasa is part Hina and part Athena from Hayate the Combat Butler. For Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128, the Hina part came out in full force.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128

Hina-chan 2.o

For those of you who never read Hayate the Combat Butler, the character Hina is similar to Tsukasa. Hina had pink hair and was 16. She was athletic, very attractive, petite, and handy with a sword. But most importantly, Hina hated to lose.

In Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128, we see all of Hina’s features in Tsukasa. I have to say that I got a kick out of seeing Tsukasa brandish a sword to battle the headless armor. She was very much like Hina in her swordplay. Tsukasa’s familiarity with swords had already been long established when she and Nasa visited Nasa’s parents. So it was nice seeing that pay off here.

Of course Tsukasa’s declaration of not wanting to lose made me laugh. As I mentioned, this is very much a Hina trait.

The one difference is that Tsukasa doesn’t appear to get scared. When the giant centipede shows up at the end, she’s more stunned by this unexpected monster rather than scared.

Other Items of Interest

While Tsukasa was awesomeness in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128, I was disappointed that Kaguya didn’t seem to know Tsukasa.  In fact, Kaguya’s whole motivation seemed to stem from the fact that her headless armor creation didn’t scare Tsukasa. As such, Kaguya was determined to scare Tsukasa. Their earlier encounter seems to have no bearing on Kaguya’s actions.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128

I got a chuckle out of Hakase’s reactions at seeing her brilliant ghost, horror movie plans getting flushed when Tsukasa went into full action mode. Kaguya apparently having some giant centipede creation caused Hakase even more disappointment of sorts. So now, her original movie is turning into something else.

I suspect Hata-sensei inserted a clue into Tsukasa’s dialog regarding the scream noise Kaguya started playing. I couldn’t help but wonder if Tsukasa has let out such an anguished scream in the past.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 128 was a fun chapter, allowing us to see Tsukasa go full Hina.
