Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Tsukasa gets caught up in reading old manga magazines. Nasa startles her by calling her name. He tells here there’s a lot more stuff here. As such, Tsukasa says they’ll take only what they need, but leave the rest. Charlotte and Aurora can clean up the place afterward. Further, Tsukasa states she doesn’t feel she’ll need to return to this place to hide again.

Chitose inquires about food. This leads Tsukasa to announce that they will basically have tot “harvest” a meal. As such, she and Nasa head out into the woods. Tsukasa talks of how things have changed in the last 100 years. After gathering some plants and mushrooms, Tsukasa suggests they go get some fish in a nearby stream.

Nearby, Kaguya, Hakase, and Hotaru continue their trek. Kaguya amazes the other two with her navigation skills. Then she points out that she’s using Google Maps. However, the fact that they have a cell signal means someone must be up here. Hotaru mentions how yakuza hide out in mountain areas, and apparently growing weed.

Kaguya vows to protect them, no matter what. As such, they soon arrive at the house, where they discover Nasa and Tsukasa on the engawa, making out.

Thoughts/Review:

And so we are near the third meeting between Tsukasa and Kaguya in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 177.

At the House

The first part of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 177 dealt with Tsukasa, Nasa, and Chitose. I laughed when Tsukasa got distracted with the old manga magazines. I know when I’ve done shelf reorganization or other cleanup, I can easily get distracted by something I’ve not seen in ages.

Next, Tsukasa vows to never return to Kyoumaru Mansion. I’m pretty sure this is where she raised Tokiko. So her vow to never return is really powerful. Plus, apparently she will not go into hiding ever again. I couldn’t help but think of Nasa’s eventual death. While I think Hata-sensei will have Tsukasa become immortal, I also believe that if Tsukasa remained immortal, she’d mourn Nasa’s passing, but wouldn’t hide.

Finally, there’s Nasa and Tsukasa’s stroll in the woods, looking for food. Nasa is learning a lot about his wife. But that’s what he wanted.

Kaguya’s Group

Kaguya, Hotaru, and Hakase finally reach their objective in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 177. Hata-sensei again shows us how intelligent Kaguya is. As depicted by her friends, the fact that they had a strong cell signal in a remote mountain area meant nothing to them. But it told Kaguya a lot.

Still, if Kaguya had run into yakuza, how would she have protected Hotaru and Hakase? That aside, I got a chuckle out of how puzzled she was to see Nasa and Tsukasa at the residence.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 177 was a fun chapter. On one hand, we are seeing how Tsukasa has changed over time. On the other, we have Kaguya and company approaching. Now it is time for the third meeting between Kaguya and Tsukasa.
