Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Tsukasa finds Aya loafing about, playing a game in the front room of the bathhouse. When she asks about Aya’s college entrance exams, Aya gets concerned, but attempts to play it off. Further, she doesn’t find motivation in Tsukasa’s words. However, Aya wants to know why Nasa took the entrance exam. Tsukasa doesn’t have an answer.

Elsewhere, Himari and Asimo discuss his entrance exams. Asimo recalls how in junior high school, a boy (Nasa) would always beat him. However, Asimo heard the boy died in his third year, thus Asimo’s first place showing since then doesn’t mean as much.

Back with Nasa and Tsukasa, she asks if Nasa is considering going for college. He doesn’t want to do that as it will mean less time with Tsukasa. Despite this, he still wants to try the entrance exam.

Thoughts/Review:

So Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 228 continues to build on this multi-crossed love triangle thing. Both Himari and Asimo have connections with Nasa. So now Nasa can have a romantic rival and a scholastic rival. To be honest, I’m not that keen on things if the story keeps going in this direction. Yeah, I know Nasa will never leave Tsukasa, but still. The story’s projected path just doesn’t jazz me.

Another point is Nasa acting like a jerk. On one hand, I get that he wants to test himself. On the other, if he isn’t going to college, then he’s just jacking with everyone else.

Finally, we’ve got Aya goofing off rather than study for her entrance exams. Interesting that Tsukasa holds the view that college isn’t everything. That aside, I do wonder what Aya would do as an adult.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 228 was fine for what it was. I’m just not liking the direction the manga seems to be going in.

  1. Hang in there Astronerdboy!

I don’t have the time and energy to watch
so much stuff. I look at manga for myself
and a friend. Usenet rec.arts.anime is dead
or the moderator is or quit.

Very little traffic on the rec.arts.manga aside
from the notes I have posted there but it seems
    like wasted effort.

    Good Luck!
