Shakugan no Shana-tan The Movie

Gekijouban Shakugan no Shana-tan

Well, what we have here is a movie of just under six minutes with the chibi Shana-tan as the star. I gather these were pretty popular with the release of the first TV series of Shakugan no Shana that it was only natural that one would be done for the movie.

The first short simply introduces Shana-tan. The second features Marianne getting repaired by Friagne. Apparently being repaired is pleasurable for the doll and rather than address Friagne as “Goshujin-sama” (a very submissive way of addressing a “master”), she addresses him as Friagne-sama. The third features Shana-tan sitting on Yuuji’s head and eating chicken skin (?). The 4th shows the same TV show that Yuuji watched in the movie, only now when Wilhelmina Carmel walks my, Shana-tan is with her. The 5th has Shana-tan on top of Hirai-chan’s head, throwing abuse at Ike-kun in the arcade. The 6th has the touching scene before Hirai-chan vanishes turn weird with her saying odd things and Yuuji ending up finding himself holding a pair of pink panties.

The 7th is apparently a parody of a famous Japanese horror story Banchou Sarayashiki, but has Yoshida-san doing the cookies and laughing. The 8th has Friagne with his Hougu (in the shape of the Ace of Spades card) Regular Sharp and Marianne, with Friagne spewing a bunch of cards when Regular Sharp is apparently destroyed. The 9th has the scene when Yoshida-san decides to eat the cookies she’d made for Yuuji. Only this time, she finds a faceless Shana-tan inside. However, Shana-tan soon returns to form and the two have a verbal fight. The final one has Alastor attached to a giant squid.

This was a smile thing for sure, but it didn’t really give me any great laughs. But at least it was better than Itadaki no Hecate-tan, the last one of these “Shana-tan” things I’ve seen.

Actually, it wasn’t exactly a faceless Shana. If you look carefully, it was Shana biting onto the cookie Yoshida was holding. What you saw was Shana’s jawline and underside of her head.
