More Negima! Chapter 254 SPOILER Images

Special thanks to fg7dragon, who alerted me to a late-posted image on 2ch, which was done around midnight Japan time (11:00ET).

To quote the Japanese poster, “サービス♪サービスぅ♪ ” (literally, they are saying “service” twice, which we in the English speaking world know as “fan service”).

    That’s some service alright.

Looks like the written spoiler was accurate.

anybody think Shiori’s disguise is going a little too well?

There’s also this thought that for such an injury, there could be a chance Shiori will revert back to her old self.

  4. AstroNerdBoy says:

I thought about that as well — Shiori-Asuna’s injury (assuming it is real) might be what reveals her true identity. Then again, Negi’s injury didn’t unmask him by dispelling the “Nagi” illusion.

  5. Ultimaniac says:

I hope this chapter puts to rest all the complaints that Negi is getting too strong. Seeing as how he’s on the ground and the guy doesn’t seem to have broken a sweat, obviously Negi’s still got a loooong way to go. Well, Negi himself said so not too long ago but I’m sure there were still people worrying.

Hey from what i see negi is losing how could that be ???!!!

    srry for my poor eng

  7. fg7dragon says:

I think Negi might have realized that the Asuna next to him is a fake. The injury she got was magic, even if from some blades. I think that’s what the governor means when he says “I guess I should teach you who is your true enemy”.
    Any second opinions?

  8. AstroNerdBoy says:

Without more of the chapter, I hesitate to say more. However, if the attack is magical, it may well unmask Shiori since it would prove she doesn’t have magic cancel abilities. IF that happens, I wonder if Negi will eventually pick off all of Fate’s babes and add them to his own harem. *lol*

  9. fg7dragon says:

Well, considering how things went with Eva and Kotarou, I gues it IS possible.
After all, he let that Baron class demon, Wilhelm Josef von Herrmann, who petrified his village, live.
Those cuties that are Fate’s partners are there just by coincidence, and mostly out of fear. I seriusly doubt Negi would use or need anything other then an Exarmatio to get them out of his way.
The problems are Tsukuyomi and the ones that were at the Gate.

i think negi is still weaker than fate if we consider his actual strength he only tied with rakken with the magic absorbing circle.. which i think is probably hard to setup in an actual fight to the death

  11. laclongquan says:

Negi’s disguise is created by magic pill. Shiori’s disguise is a type of transform+hypno, to ensure that Shiori acting/thinking the same as the target. The damage may well affect the hypno component and making her more susceptible to detection magic.

For example, with Honoka’s thought reading magic, prior to that Shiori would thought of herself as “Asuna”. Self-hypno, see?! But if the hypno-component is damaged and her consciousness return, when she start thinking of herself as Shiori… Bang! detected!

And we havent even discussed about other ways to expose herself such as changes of behaviours, lower of combat abilities, etc…

I agree with what laclongquan said being that there will be a clearly noticible difference in Shiori’s power compared to the real Asuna.
For one, she will not be very good at kendo, which real Asuna has been constantly training with Setsuna. She will also not be able to use Kanka(Magic+Ki) and as many others have pointed out, will not have magic cancle. Now thats a BIG difference in combat strength.

come to think of it, I still have one of the theories involving Yue’s memory coming back. One way is Yue seeing Negi seriously injured before her eyes with all the blood and such. The emotional trauma could bring back her memory.

  15. Anonymous says:

Yeah, an interesting development indeed. But it also means that the long awaited “Pactio Festival” will have to wait even longer, or be canceled!

ok from what i have read from the raw Negi is loss to that jackass guy well from my point of view i kind of dont like this chapter because negi lose tooo easy i mean com on he fight very amazing with ranka but why this chapter he lose to some one that a lot weaker than ranka(from what i think) anyway hopefully negi will piss and unleash his power (i alway love when negi or some other main character in the story piss) and i really want negi to found out about asuna (because he will be piss too and i love when he piss as i say before)

oh well thank you very much and sorry for my poor englishand hope u would say to me what u think

  17. AstroNerdBoy says:

Anon — no problem on the English. Are you Japanese per chance or know Japanese?

Regardless, one thing you have to remember is that during the fight with Jack, Negi was getting extra power from Theo via that temporary pactio. That combined with the pactio artifact he acquired were just enough to make him break even with Jack.

In his fight with the Governor-General, Negi doesn’t have that advantage. I don’t know what spells/techniques he has, but Akamatsu-sensei is showing that he’s not someone to be taken lightly. So it gives Negi another challenge to overcome.

Actually, by making Negi go back down in power levels, Akamatsu-sensei is being smart and avoids the DBZ trap of getting so insanely powerful that you become god-like. Also, there’s a chance that Akamatsu-sensei may use this event to unmask Shiori. ^_^

Yeah, Bejeweled Blitz was down. ^_~

@Anon — I just happened to see that the message had been approved.

  20. The Curious Fan says:

Looks like Magia Erebea is screwing with Negi’s ability to keep his limbs attached when using Raisoku Shundou from what can be seen in the RAW, that or Shiori managed to copy the Magic Cancel ability from Asuna.

On another subject the reason Negi lost is because his limbs ended up in the wrong place after Raisoku Shundou leaving him open to attack but still, that governor pierced Negi’s barrier in one shot.

  21. laclongquan says:

One, no reinfocing magic coming from Theo, Two, unheal damages from the fight with Jakan, Three, magic/psyche depletion after such an intense battle (refer back to the aftermath of Mahora Tournament), Four, unknown (till now) damages of Dark Magic on a growing body (unlike Eva’s body which is of an immortal with hundred of years).

Those are the four reasons I can think of to explain why Negi was beaten so quickly.

On another note, base on the provocation from the governor general I dont think he’s bad guy. His words, frankly, are too blatant. At best he simply intend to expose the fake Twilight Princess. At worst, he’s a bigot Very low chance of that, really. The whole world is looking and he behave like that? I dont believe so. So my money is on the purpose of expose the fake.

Lastly, combat scene like this could might well restore Yue’s memory.
