@EditorialeManga — You’re welcome! ^_^ I really do hope that Ala Alba resolves this arc without Negi, even if the Magic World collapses.
@Philip — I don’t think so. I think it is more that Fate’s vast knowledge allows him to recover from his shock quickly and logically deduce what’s going on. Then again, Fate may have seen them all or sensed them somehow once Kotaro appeared.
@Anon — I’m keeping an eye open but I’m not holding my breath. Any more, spoiler images are for those “WHOA!” moments. Whomever posted these is well connected considering how early they came out.
Why do i feel that Akamatsu-sensei is just giving us an eyeful of the girls fighting Fate? I have a hunch that Negi is trying to beat some internal demon in him.
The girls, meanwhile, gets whacked around by fate. And just like it seems all hope is lost, Negi comes back and beats the crap out of fate.
Sounds like some classic story.
Is it just me, or does it appear that at least of the girls in Kotarou’s group is missing from the group shot (of course, the picture is blurry, so the missing girl may be in the picture, but I can’t notice her due to the quality of the picture).

Wow to think he blocked the Chao Bao Zi Neko Cannon(thats what i call it) with a barrier Fate is freaking insanely strong i think he cant use the key while he has Asuna in that state using the ritual oh how are they going to get outa there, i also liked how Yuuna blasted Wood spirit girl with her gun

Well, that’s highly possible. That said, I’m hoping that Ala Alba minus Negi are the ones who at least get them out of this situation with a confrontation with Fate delayed for later. ^_^

I don’t think Kotaro is from the magic world just like I don’t think Setsuna is either. They come from an actual race of being and I believe are a type of mazoku/youkai. The races they are from are not illusions but living, breathing people. Thus, that’s why Setsuna, Kotaro, and Mana are actually “half-breeds.” I don’t think one can create a half-illusion being.

When she offered to be part of the diversionary team, that was the one element I thought she would bring into play. I didn’t think she’d attack Fate directly. My thinking was that she’d attack the area so that the sphere Asuna is in would break off and of course Fate would try to stop that and thus be out of position for when the others rescued Asuna.
really wish that I could see the battle between negi and fate

Well, there are trial cases of magic world residence (illusion types) living on Earth. However, as I said earlier, Kotaro is not from the Magic World.
