Japanese Music: Nitro Microphone Underground – NIGHT RAID-Tokyo State of Mind

OK, I know I shouldn’t, but I’m going back to the Japanese gansta rap group Nitro Microphone Underground well again. ^_^;  This is another song that I really like from NMU and when finances allow, I’ll be officially adding it to my collection.  In the meantime, I have to settle for YouTube, but I’m blasting this at full volume to help get me through this very busy month of July. ^_^

Next time, I’ll look at another Japanese group. ^_^  (I just haven’t decided which one yet.)

  1. Meh. Sounds too much like modern American rap, which I’m not too fond of. In fact, I’m not too big on most “popular” music these days that tops the American charts, be it pop, rock, or rap. For me, most of the good new stuff either comes from older, more established artists/bands (the only stuff that gets airplay) or is something indie/non-mainstream or is from a non-English-speaking culture like Japan.

Anywho, if you really like J-rap I recommend Rip Slyme. They got a real upbeat old-school vibe to them. They’re a great group. You can find a bunch of their videos on Youtube.

Yeah, that’s true but not surprising since they are basing their style on American gangsta rap. ^_~

I will be looking for that for sure. Thanks for the tip! ^_^
