SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

The members of Sabertooth arrive at the alchemist guild Lead Eagle. For the third time, they strike out on their quest to learn about creating the Philosopher’s Stone. Minerva figures they may have to resort to brute force to get answers. As they leave Lead Eagle, its short, guru-looking master Zaraam informs them of an alchemical genius named Iruha.

Back at Magia Dragon, the damaged Athena requests to be teleported to Gold Owl. Despite her state, she feels the need to eliminate the fake Duke. The weakened Rogue as well as Fro want to go with her as well.

Over at Gold Owl, Lucy freaks out over the outfit Brandish put her in. Gray reminds her that she can wear a Star Dress and solve the problem. However, the realm they are unable to escape the realm they are trapped in. In other realms, Erza squares to battle the Signario sisters while Jellal faces off with god Serena.

Within the guild hall, Natsu pummels Athena II. As such, Duke threatens to kill the unconscious Wendy if Natsu continues. This forces Natsu to take a beating from Athena II before Duke orders her to take his power. However, Athena shows up to stop Athena II.

Thoughts/Review:

Well, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 142 proved me right about the gag where once again, Lucy forgets she can wear a Star Dress. Not that this was hard to predict. Mashima-sensei likes going for old gags on a routine basis.

As to the chapter’s story, I was wrong in thinking Athena would get repaired before returning to fight. Since she didn’t repair herself, I can’t help but think she will end up sacrificing herself for Fairy Tail to succeed. I hope I’m wrong ’cause I kinda like the character.

Finally, I got a chuckle out of Sabertooth discussing handing out some beat-downs to get the information they seek on the Philosopher’s Stone. I don’t think it was done for humor, but for some reason, it amused me. It could be the lack of sleep on my part. 😅

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 142 wasn’t much. But it seems that a conclusion is coming up for the fight with Athena II. And I suspect that Erza’s and Jella’s respective fights will come to a quick end as well.
