ああっ女神さまっ Chapter 298 REVIEW
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
As Keiichi continues the course, he realizes he’s still afraid, but figures that with Belldandy watching him, he’ll succeed. Tyr smirks about Keiichi’s courage, saying it could kill him. Keiichi comes to a sharp rise in the course, meaning he can’t see how things go beyond the hill. So, he wonders what he should do about his speed. He decides to go full steam, but discovers that the course at this point is a corkscrew. Keiichi loses it in the turn and goes off the side, his bike breaking up in the process.
Belldandy calls worriedly for Keiichi as this happens. Tyr has his point proven about Keiichi’s courage killing him as Keiichi falls into the abyss. Belldandy screams out Keiichi’s name as he falls into water at the bottom of the abyss. Tyr seems puzzled that there’s water there while Keiichi wonders if he is actually dead. He then wonders why he’d still be thinking if he were truly dead.
Keiichi hears Belldandy’s voice and thinks Belldandy has come to welcome his soul into the afterlife. He opens his eyes and finds himself back at the starting point with Tyr. Belldandy collapses with relief while a smiling Tyr asks Keiichi how the feeling of death was.
Thoughts/Review:
Well Fujishima-sensei, you really are going to drag this one out, aren’t you. ^_^;
As expected, Keiichi’s second attempt ends in failure. Normally, that should mean that his third attempt will succeed, even if only by a gnat’s wing.
Still, there really wasn’t much here. Keiichi thinking he was dead and that he’d shattered several bones was no doubt set up by Tyr to teach Keiichi some ultimate lesson. It will be interesting to see how Keiichi responds to the feeling of dying.
What I’m not sure about is if Tyr is being sarcastic when he asks if he placed the water at the bottom of the abyss. I kinda get the feeling that he actually didn’t place the water there and that the power of Belldandy’s emotions caused her to instinctively do something to try to let Keiichi live. Not that smacking water from a great height is some sort of life saver, but I’ll let that bit slide.
Anyway, nothing else really to say about the chapter. I figure Keiichi will go for the third time and as I said earlier, win it somehow. We’ll see though.
