Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa examines the moonstone Tokiko gave him. Kaname bursts in, demanding to know why he and Tsukasa are leaving this place. She concedes to feeling lonely if they leave. Tsukasa shows up and assures Kaname that they’ll still be around. After all, Tsukasa works at the bathhouse and Nasa can work in the guesthouse. Thus assured, Kaname leaves.

Tsukasa and Nasa go for an evening stroll. Nasa is excited at the thought of being more like a real couple when they move. He hugs Tsukasa. She decides to be frank with him and informs him that he doesn’t properly hug. Nasa is devastated by this. However, she educates him on proper hugging methodology, which improves his mood greatly.

Nasa decides to be open with Tsukasa. He wants permission to touch her while she sleeps. He explains that because she tosses and turns at night, he would like to adjust the futon or her PJs. Tsukasa gets angry at the very notion she tosses and turns at night.

Thoughts/Review:

I can’t help but think that Hata-sensei got into a fight with his wife over something trivial after reading Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107. 😅

Keeping the Bathhouse Relevant

Since Tsukasa and Nasa have lived in the Arisugawa guesthouse for a while now, I did wonder exactly how Hata-sensei would keep Aya and Kaname relevant beyond the odd visit. Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107 let us know how Sensei would accomplish this.

As I understood it, Tsukasa was working for free at the bathhouse because the Arisugawa family were allowing Tsukasa and Nasa to stay rent free in the guesthouse. But now she considers herself an employee of the bathhouse who intends to work there every day. I’m guessing the series is going to downplay the “no days off” aspect of this by ignoring it. However, it does allow for Tsukasa to hang out at the bathhouse and thus continue to interact with Kaname and Aya.

By turning the guesthouse into an office for Nasa, he too can continue to interact with Aya and Kaname. So I like how that is being set up.

Marriage is a War

I recall watching an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where where Klingon General Martok tells Captain Sisko that marriage is, “a long, grueling, intoxicating war.” Hata-sensei hasn’t touched too much on the “war” part of marriage to date, but he changed that with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107

Tsukasa crushed Nasa by honestly telling him that she didn’t like the way he hugged her. And thus the war went into full swing. 🤣 But, she did take the time to actually tell Nasa how she wanted to be hugged. So I appreciated that about Tsukasa.

On the flip side, Nasa angered Tsukasa over a simple truth. I have to believe that Hata-sensei wrote this aspect based on personal experience. I have found it amazing what will set a girl off. In this case, Tsukasa gets angry because Nasa mentioned she tosses and turns in bed. She does toss and turn at night, and even sleep walks. But since she doesn’t believe it, being told this is enough to piss her off.

And so the war continues. 😅

Final Thought and Conclusion

Before I wrap up my review of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107, I did notice that Hata-sensei dedicated one page to actual plot. Hata-sensei is NOTORIOUS for teasing a bit of plot, then switching to gag humor or the like. He did it all the time in Hayate the Combat Butler. I wonder what Nasa’s theory on the moonstone is.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107

That aside, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 107 was a very fun chapter. I enjoyed it immensely.
