Thoughts/Review:

The writers can’t help but inject some depressing elements in Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost 11, but fortunately, those are kept to a minimum.

New Year’s Fun

For Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost 11, the writers cover most of the normal New Years activities in Japan. One change is just a generic playing in the snow for Fushihara and Yuurei-chan. And this is where the depression element is introduced. Myaako clearly had an aversion to the cold and snow. I guess it is supposed to be a cat thing. I was worried that we’d see that Myaako actually died in the snow. Thankfully, the writers didn’t go there. And Yuurei-chan bringing in the snow cat cheered Myaako. Thus the depressing stuff came to an end.

I did like how the writers brought in Satsuki and Lily to the New Year’s fun. First there was the soba dinner. Then the following day, there were kimono’s for the spirit girls and a trip to the local shrine. There’s no doubt that all three spirit girls looked absolutely adorable in their kimono’s. And I noticed Yuurei-chan and Myaako were wearing their Christmas scarfs and mittens. 😍

It is unfortunate that at this late stage in the anime series, we are introducing yet another supernatural, little girl entity. I think she’s supposed to be the shrine god and an oni to boot, based on the intro. And this spirit did wear an oni mask in the shrine’s kamidana. But she had a fox tail and other, young foxes within, suggesting she’s a kitsune, not an oni. I guess we’ll find out in the final episode.

That aside, I wonder why the shrine entity only communed with Yuurei-chan and not Myaako or Lily. And why didn’t it make its presence known to the others, especially since Fushihara and Satsuki are sheltering ghost children.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

I’m insanely behind, but let me wrap up my review of Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost 11. I liked the episode and was thankful the depressing elements were kept to a minimum. Nothing to do but wait for the series finale.
