Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Kaguya is a 15-year old genius. However, she quickly forgets things she’s not interested in. Kaguya finds her lack of stature to be a source of frustration. She apparently hasn’t grown since elementary school. Kaguya heavily researched the topic to overcome her shortness, but found nothing.

One day while walking and talking with Jessie on the subject of love, Kaguya comes to believe that her lack of interest in the subject may be the cause of her shortness. As such, she starts contemplating if there’s anyone she knows who can help. She vaguely recalls Nasa, but doesn’t know why.

Sometime later while talking with Mishio, Kaguya asks if there’s someone they know who recently got married. Mishio mentions Yuzaki-sensei, and Kaguya then recalls.

Meanwhile, Tsukasa works the bathhouse desk and ponders Kaguya going after her secret. Nasa enters and they discuss the situation. Kaguya shows up at the bathhouse and announces that she’ll be uncovering their secrets…of love!

And so we get a Kaguya chapter with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 194. Time to inject some comedy with some possible lore hints.

Short Joke Revived with a Twist

The first thing that struck me about Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 194 is that the gag of Kaguya not being able to reach something on a top shelf is recycled from Hayate the Combat Butler. There, Nagi couldn’t reach the cookies on the top shelf.

The twist is that Kaguya goes down a different path than Nagi did. Using bizarre logic, Kaguya decides it is a lack of love in her life that is causing her to not have grown since elementary school. Of course, this is going to lead to some sort of comedy hijinks, based on how Hata-sensei set things up. Tsukasa is somewhat concerned over Kaguya learning her secret. Then Kaguya shows up, announcing she’s going to find their secret.

I do note that Hata-sensei inserted that Kaguya hasn’t grown since elementary school. If this Kaguya is the same as the Kaguya from 1400+ years ago, then she entered elementary school the same height she is now. If Kaguya is a reincarnation, then she’s only growing to the height she apparently was in the past. We’ll see where that goes.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 194 is a fun little chapter. Forgotten characters Jessie and Mishio return, having apparently made it safely off the mountain. And Kaguya begins a new interaction with Nasa and Tsukasa. Should be fun.
