“Tenchi Muyo! GXP: Paradise War” Announced
Sorry for the lateness of this news, but I’ve been up to my eyeballs and beyond with work of late. π At Comiket 100, Kajishima-sensei (Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki creator) released his latest doujinshi work, called Omatsuri Zenjitsu no Yoru Ganso Ban 22.08. As I understand it, the doujin work itself is a kind of prototype to Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki, done back in the late 1980s (maybe).
That aside, Kajishima-sensei usually gives a status report to what’s going on. This is the 3oth anniversary of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki‘s release as an OVA on VHS! As such, a new, canon anime title is currently in production. The new series is tentatively called Tenchi Muyo! GXP: Paradise War. No other details at present, but Kajishima-sensei did state that because he’s tied up with the anime production, he hasn’t had time to continue writing novels. I presume he means the next GXP novel.
I’ll obviously be keeping my eye open for news on this series. I’m hoping for a good adaptation of the Paradise War novels. It is highly unlikely we’ll ever see those officially translated to English. However, knowing Kajishima-sensei like I do, He tends to shy away from covering the same ground twice. The GXP novels were an exception as Kajishima-sensei didn’t like what Nabeshin (WATANABE Shinichi) did with the GXP anime.
Below is a scan of Kajishima-sensei’s remarks. If you know Japanese, we’d love a proper translation.

I’m always happy to get more GXP related stuff as the GXP anime and story is my favorite. I don’t think it will ever happen but I hope the GXP novels get an English translation someday. I own them all in Japanese just to have and support buying them but yeah, doesn’t do me much good until they are in English.
In my book, nobody does a harem like Kajishima-san does a harem.
I think this will be more Paradise War than GXP, though GXP is a part of that. Still, I am looking forward to it.
True.
