Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:
Nakiri calls Nasa to inform him she has the parts he ordered. As such, he’s able to complete the machine to read the data Tokiko left for him. Tsukasa has to leave so the machine will work. As such, Tsukasa goes to the bathhouse to work. Nasa reads the data, learning a great deal, including information about Tsukasa’s barrette.
Nasa contemplates what he has learned. The device shuts down as it detects Tsukasa’s presence. Nasa tells her he’s only just begun to uncover the data, but what little he has seen has been impressive. Tsukasa worries that the more Nasa learns about, he might come to dislike her. Nasa swears this will never be the case.
Thoughts/Review:
Get get back to the main plot in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 232. Some of the data that we learned was quite horrific. For there to be data that Tsukasa’s body was 100% eradicated, including her brain, that strongly suggests Tsukasa subjected herself to experimentation. I mean, good grief! That’s terrible. I think Tsukasa still feels pain, but I’m not 100% sure about that.
Another item of interest is Tsukasa’s barrette that she got from the emperor hundreds of years ago. It confirms the leather barrette regenerates with Tsukasa. I suspected it was because Tsukasa’s blood soaked into it.
Finally, the research states that otherwise, Tsukasa is a normal human. That’s interesting as well.
I’m curious as to what further speculation Nasa came up with. I guess I’ll find that out next chapter…whenever I get to read that. Might be a bit.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 232 is an interesting chapter that finally sees us get back to the main plot.

Astro Its been awhile I hope you’re doing well. I don’t think I’ve visited since UQ Holder ended. I wanted to ask if you would recommend the Tonikaku Cawaii manga and whether or not I should read Hayate the Combat Butler first. I know you enjoyed that 1 back in the day because I noticed you posting about it when I was following your Negima chapter reviews
I’m looking for another series. currently I’m keeping up with Ayakashi Triangle, Mato Seihei no Slave, and Megami no Café Terrace, but I only read them as they release in English.
final thoughts on Hayate in hindsight? worth? how does it stack up after all these years looking back at it?
Hi! Welcome back! Sorry this took so long. I recently moved (phase 1) and am only now getting caught up.
Although Hayate the Combat Butler and Tonikaku Cawaii (Kawaii) are set on the same world (there have been Hayate character cameos in Tonikaku), you do not need to read Hayate the Combat Butler first.
As to Hayate the Combat Butler, on the whole, I like the manga. I don’t remember which volume, but somewhere well into the series, Viz hired a new translator who is complete trash. The bozo literally rewrote stuff so that at times, it didn’t say what the original manga said. So I quit buying the Viz releases and just bought the Japanese volumes (reading the unofficial translations, which were accurate but readable). That aside, the story in Hayate is fun, funny, but the ending is a tad rushed. And Hata-sensei wanted a certain pairing that the story didn’t really support, so he forced that pairing, and it didn’t work for me. But as I said, on the whole, I liked the manga.
For Tonikaku Cawaii, Hata-sensei learned his lesson. It isn’t a spoiler to say that Nasa (the male MC) and Tsukasa (the female MC) get together right from the start. The manga is partially about a young, newlywed couple going through life. The other part of the story (covering the actual plot) is about Tsukasa. The day in the life stuff is fun and sometimes funny. The plot stuff is where I find things more interesting. Sadly, Viz uses the same trash translator for this series, so I don’t buy the books from them. I get the Japanese tankoubons and just read the unofficial translations.
