Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 95 Manga Review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

After turning Lucy in to a plushie, Haku turns Natsu and Happy into plushies as well. This prevents Natsu from using his fire magic, lest he incinerate himself. Lucy summons Virgo, who also appears as a plushie. This delights Haku. However, Virgo cannot tunnel through the labyrinth floor or walls. Haku brings out a plushie dog, which chases Natsu, Lucy, and Happy. Selene decides to credit him with eliminating two Fairy Tail members.

Elsewhere, Suzaku finds himself lost. In other parts of the dungeon, Wendy and Lily find the labyrinth attacking them, including summoning monsters from the wall material. Gray and Erza, Gajeel and Charle (Carla), as well as Kiria and Misaki also come under attack. Misaki is able to reveal the monsters have a core, allowing Kiria to destroy them.

Still elsewhere, Laxus defeats Skullion and Madmole without issue. Selene credits this as eliminating two Diabolos members. However, Diabolos member Kirin shows up to fight Laxus.

Thoughts/Review:

As is commonplace for this series, the fights in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 95 are ultra quick. I know we’ve seen Skullion and Madmole fight Natsu and company before. However, how did Laxus defeat them so easily when Team Natsu had difficulty TWICE? Yeah, I get that the plot requirements of those two incidents required Team Natsu to fail. I suspect that in this case, Mashima-sensei didn’t want to bother with the details ’cause he didn’t know how Laxus would so easily beat them when Natsu couldn’t.

Speaking of Natsu, I did chuckle when Haku turned him into a plushie as well. Since Selene counts this as eliminating Fairy Tail members, I think we can safely say that there will be no deaths in this arc. Considering the labyrinth is “alive” after a fashion, I kinda think Diabolos and Fairy Tail will need to cooperate just to escape. But that leaves the issue of Elefseria’s heart. I can see them cooperating to get out, then fighting over who gets the heart. We’ll see though.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 95 is pretty entertaining, though I would have liked to see how Laxus defeated Skullion and Madmole.
