Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 116 Manga Review
フェアリーテイル 100年クエスト
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Lily finds the battered and bleeding Gajeel. Despite his protests to the contrary, Lily has to carry Gajeel to follow god Serena. Meanwhile, the other Fairy Tail members continue destroying orbs, assisted by the battered but awake Kiria brings an orb and destroys it, meaning the final orb is where Gajeel went. Unfortunately, Gajeel is lost to them.
The strain takes its toll on Selene, who collapses. Wendy says she’s trying to heal her, but Selene’s magic loss is too great. With her gates closed, Selene weakly tells the others to get out while they can, leaving it up to Gajeel and Lily. Those two manage to get out as well, where they find god Serena and the battered Sai.
Lily and Gajeel attack, but have no effect on Serena. Sai uses his Love Bond to change Gajeel into Levy. Gajeel-Levy uses Levy’s magic to smash Sai while Serena leaves. This restores Gajeel to his normal form, where he shows Lily that he stole the orb from Serena, then destroys it.
Elsewhere, Natsu lands a massive blow on Dogramag.
Thoughts/Review:
It feels like things are trying to wind down for whatever this current arc is in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 116. Our heroes have destroyed all of the orbs after Gajeel managed to steal the last one. And Natsu lands an apparent, massive blow to Dogramag. So I suppose the only thing left is for Natsu to do his thing, scream out about nakama power, and then defeat Dogramag.
Mashima-sensei goes back to the well on body swapping, this time with Gajeel and Levy. However, unlike Gray, Gajeel had no trouble using Levy’s power. Not sure what the implication there is. But it was mildly amusing seeing Levy as Gajeel for a moment.
I guess Mashima-sensei realized that with Selene dying, and with a healer present, she should be healing her. Except we’ve not seen Wendy do any such thing. We are simply told that Wendy is trying to heal Selene, but her injuries are too severe. Well, if she dies this way, that’s another dragon god down. But who takes over Diabolos? Skullion, whom we’ve not seen in ages?
I note that Kiria does her good deed and becomes embarrassed like a school girl when praised by Laxus. So in my mind, unless something drastic happens, Diabolos will now be allies of Fairy Tail, like pretty much every other guild they’ve faced before.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 116 is fine for what it is.
