ケロロ軍曹/Sgt. Frog Anime
Keroro Gunsou Episode 92 Review
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Its the new year and as Keroro works on a Gundam model, he sees some kites and inquires of Fuyuki as to what they are. After hearing the history of kites and their former military usages, Keroro’s newest invasion plan has the platoon flattened and placed onto kites. Keroro, Giroro, Kururu, and Tamama are then flown by Fuyuki, Natsumi, Mao, and Momoka. Unfortunately for Giroro, Keroro has a change of mind in the sky and even tries to build a 2D Gundam model. When the lines get tangled, a massive gust of wind snaps the lines and the four kites go off on their own. Dororo, now on a kite, comes to rescue but then realizes he’d been left out and his “trauma switch” activates. Somehow, the foursome return home and turn the Hinata home into a box kite for more fun in the sky.
Momoka gets her fortune which suggests that love is hers and it is tied with a Japanese badminton match. As such, she invites Mao, Fuyuki, Natsumi, Koyuki over for a match with Fuyuki being the spectator. Also attending are Rei, who is ready for a sport rematch with Natsumi; Orero-fujin, Keroro dressed as a woman; Hanako, Tamama dressed as the infamous female ghost, and Melody Honey. Natsumi, Koyuki, Mao, and Momoka win their matches but in the next round, Natsumi’s and Koyuki’s fight is a draw and both are out. That leaves Mao to battle Momoka, who loses. As the losers get their faces marked, Mao decides she wants Fuyuki to make the mark on her. He agrees but in her excitement, his circle mark becomes skewed and looks like a heart mark (love). Thus, Momoka’s new year starts off with a win as far as she’s concerned.
Thoughts/Review:
I decided to at least get one episode of Keroro Gunsou in this year and here goes. ^_~
Story one is pretty much “meh.” There’s no humor to be found and even though I’ve not watched the anime in well over a year (nearly two), I’m still sick of the Dororo trauma jokes.
Story two was a bit better simply because of how the wins were done more so than who won the matches, which was predictable all the way to the end. I had thought Paul might cheat to try to give Momoka the win but that didn’t happen and it worked out nicely that way.
So, a 2-for-1 episode that’s just average viewing. Hard to believe the anime series is still going on in Japan (episode 346 airs next week) with as “meh” as the stories have been for me of late (maybe they’ve improved in Japan).
ANB skip to the 100th episode, it gets better =D
I’ll keep that in mind. In the meantime, I do plan to struggle through the next seven. ^_^
