UQ Holder Chapter 5 SPOILER Image(s) Update #2

OK, here’s the first SPOILER image from the upcoming UQ Holder chapter 5.

*SPOILERS*

HAR! The joke continues with Kuroumaru, eh? So, how long is Akamatsu-sensei going to keep that going? ^_~

Thanks to Southrop for the first share. ^_^Β  If anyone has anymore, let me know.

Update #1

Heh!heh!heh! Who said Eva had lost a step? Plus, she’s showing that not even Gilgamesh from the Fate/stay night franchise can hold a candle to her. ^_~

Thanks again to Southrop for this image. ^_^

Update 2:

Ah.Β  So, 2CH is basing their spoiler images off of the now released MS scan. I do worry that Kodansha will come down like white on rice over full scans coming out so early.

    Here’s another interesting one. http://puu.sh/4vPP0.jpg

    That second pic… Wow.
If I’m correct, Eva promises to show some “real ancient magic”
    That she certainly does.

… Chapter 5 is already out on mangafox:

I think this confirms it. Eva has lost her touch.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

*lol* I don’t think that’s the case. She’s clearly a very powerful mage and shinso vampire. I think what Akamatsu-sensei is setting up is Touta is much more than we might have suspected.

    • Ultimaniac says:

I don’t know man. All he did was get thrown by Kuroumaru. Old Eva was easily able to one-up Raiten Taisou Negi. Either Eva’s lost it or she just wanted to be seen naked lol

    • NoLastName says:

Remember when Negi beat her on the bridge early in Negima, or when Setsuna beat her in the Mahora Budokai, Evangeline goes easy on anyone she finds interesting.

I don’t think that was eva going easy. I think Akamatsu sensei originally intended eva to be boss level, but not on the same tier as ala rubra. Later he retconned eva to be final boss level strength (of course, still no match for the hidden boss).

That said, I hope he’s going to be consistent about power levels in UQH. I’ll be very happy if he brings up some humorous reason next chapter as Ultimaniac proposed.

    • Ultimaniac says:

Yeah, Negi only beat her back then because Akamatsu-sensei probably still didn’t have the characters roles completely fleshed out. It felt like he had an ending in mind but the middle of the story came as he wrote. Eva’s character back then was also completely different. That’s why I don’t put much stock into anything that happened before volume 7, which is where a lot of big changes started happening. Setsuna’s victory makes more sense because Eva reminded her of her reason to fight and also Eva’s powers full power was sealed at the time.

I felt Eva was some what serious, but there no point in going all out to beat the two. I mean for Eva to go serious that would mean enter magia erebia and whipping out the endless white nine heavens designed to trap immortals/over blown hot heads with shields.

Negi was immortal but maybe not to the same degree as Eva and touta and negi had the skills and powers to match and hold his own against all out mode Eva which we won’t see for a while in uq holder…

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      >Yeah, Negi only beat her back then because Akamatsu-sensei probably still didn’t have the characters roles completely fleshed out.

That was the feeling I got during the Kyoto arc. I remember Setsuna expressing surprise that Negi had defeated Eva, then Chamo said something about Eva holding back. Because of Del Rey’s poor adaptations of the first few volumes, I wasn’t ware of Eva being made Negi’s “adviser” by Takahata. When I learned of that, I realized that just maybe, Akamatsu-sensei was having Eva go easy on Negi. After all, she wasn’t interested in killing him, only in getting his blood to remove the curse.

      >I felt Eva was some what serious, but there no point in going all out to beat the two.

      I agree.

  4. SL from MH says:

Chapter has been released by “MP/MI“.

  5. AstroNerdBoy says:

Wow. So they were just waiting for the translation.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Actually, there’s a mad race to be first between MP/MI and MS. ^_^; Meanwhile, RHS takes there time. *lol*

    • Anonymous says:

I do like it though, as I would like to read it as soon as possible, being the fanboy I am XD. But then, in the end if the chapters were being released on Wednesday, it would still means one week between each chapter, but just with a different day. I guess it was better before as we had a chapter, a few days later spoilers pics of next, then a few more days later the actual chapter, so always something to talk about.

And well, RHS were pretty quick back in Negima though, i wouldn’t be surprised if they also release by Friday/Saturday too, after catching up. not that i would mind either way, as their version is worth an extra reread.

    • SL from MH says:

That’s true. Its been like that for a few years now.

But the sad part is that there translations are not always upto the mark.

MS used to have good translators a while back but for some reason there quality of translation has fallen.

Also i really don’t like the fact that they are really lose with there translations (like using unnecessary swearing words), and they tend to be in-consistent with how they scanlate or typeset there scans (like using both Japanese names and English translations in the same release).

But there plus point is there level of cleaning which is one of the best i have seen until in my years of following various manga’s and that’s the reason i read there scans (for doubts in translations i check some of the other translations available).

While MP/MI cleaning is not upto the mark and there translation is very vague and sometimes wrong as well.

Well, CanonRap is the translator for RHS, and he’s a Negima guru. I think his translations end up being pretty good.

But, my concern over early releases, no matter how awesome, is that the Japanese are getting them too. Thus, this would cause Kodansha to have concerns over lost Japanese sales since there’s a release out there in English. If they become concerned enough, they might decide to do a takedown of those sites releasing so early.

      >MS used to have good translators a while back but for some reason there quality of translation has fallen.

I don’t think I’m reading anything else they are doing, so I was not aware of this.

      >But there plus point is there level of cleaning which is one of the best i have seen until in my years of following various manga’s and that’s the reason i read there scans (for doubts in translations i check some of the other translations available).

      They are getting the raw from an exclusive source, so the source may help with that by giving them a good scan. The better the scan, the easier it is to clean (obviously). Some public scans are pretty rough. ^_^;

      >Well, CanonRap is the translator for RHS, and he’s a Negima guru. I think his translations end up being pretty good.

Yes, that’s the main reason rereading their scans is worth it. Both his Negima knowledge and translation quality are great.

Btw I think CanonRap/RHS also have access to very early scans as a few weeks backs I remember CanonRap commenting on the RAWs of UQ on twitter very early. Also by his twitter comments, it also seems he trans very quickly. Right now what may be slowing their release is not having someone for cleaning and te rest of the process free at the time UQ comes out.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, I think you are right. UQH isn’t the hot priority for RHS, so it is done as time permits, is what I’m thinking.

Me too, and it could go even farther: Japanese Man Arrested for Posting Magazine Article before Release Day

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I’ll have to remember to read that later since it is blocked from my current location.
