Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R 06 Review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Tsukasa sees Yuuta again as Magical sister. Later, Komugi is pleased to have a speaking part in a drama, but she has to keep her studies up, so she plans a study session with Kokona. Komugi overhears Tsukasa’s producer speaking to Tsukasa about the Buri Bara card game, so when she gets home, she gets her brother to give up one of his rare  Chateaubriand cards to give to Tsukasa. Komugi heads to the dorm where Kokona and Tsukasa reside. She goes to the wrong floor and enters Tsukasa’s room by accident, without realizing who’s room it is. Tsukasa sees this and thinks it is all over, but then decides to make Komugi wait (thinking Komugi is going to spill the beans) until after the forthcoming winter pool idol swim match. Komugi is confused by this, but agrees (to hold the rare card) until then.

At the Mid-Winter Gathering of Idols at the Pool, the fat producer on the stage wants high ratings with “wardrobe malfunctions.” The idols, including male idols, participate in various events in the giant pool, which are all based on school sports festival activities normally held out of the water. Before the water cavalry event (modified chicken battle), the fat producer asks Yuuta to remove girl’s bikini tops so they can get ratings. As Yuuta frets on what to do, a Fan-C card takes him over and starts stripping the girls. Tsukasa gets stripped, so Komugi produces a bandage wrap to cover her. Tsukasa changes to Magical Sister to finally defeat the monster and get the Fan-C card. Although Tsukasa’s plan to reveal herself as girly is foiled, after the event, Yuuta somehow knows that he was rescued by Tsukasa and he thanks her. Komugi gives Tsukasa the rare card at Tsukasa’s dorm, so Tsukasa reveals her girly secret to Komugi. Komugi gets Tsukasa to wear the bikini. Komugi agrees to not tell anyone about Tsukasa’s secret.

Thoughts/Review:

Well, I guess the folks at Tatsunoko Pro thought they needed a fanservice show, ’cause that’s mostly what we got, with a little Tsukasa romance on the side.

Ha!ha! Komugi gets herself a speaking role as a gray alien in a drama, called Tax Files. Not sure if the writers here are trying to do an X-Files parody or not. Since X-Files recently came back to life, I’ll choose to believe this was the intent.

As to the male/female idol event in an indoor pool, I was just rolling my eyes, partially because this was a modified sports festival event and partially because this was all done for pure fanservice purposes.

I got really irritated at the fat producer who kept wanting to have the girls experience “accidental” wardrobe problems, going so far as to as try to force Yuuta to remove girl’s bikini tops. I mean, if this was some kind of hentai anime, then fine — one expects such a thing and goes with the flow of that kind of fantasy. Here, I’m guessing this was supposed to be a joke, but the fact that it kept coming up repeatedly got on my nerves.

Speaking of producers, I got annoyed at one point when the subtitles didn’t have Yuuta use the term “producer” as was clearly heard in the text, but rather chose to “translate” the word producer to “sir” for some reason. *_*

On the cute and sweet side, we saw Tsukasa continuing to see Yuuta as Magical Sister.

We also got to see Tsukasa finally break down and befriend Komugi, whom she’d been so jealous of before. Now that Komugi knows her secret, I dare say Komugi would try to help Tsukasa hook up with Yuuta as boyfriend and girlfriend.

And finally, Tsukasa looked rather cute blushing when Yuuta revealed he knew it was she who rescued him, even though she was in her Magical Sister gear (and thus supposedly unrecognizable). D’aww.

In the end, not much here with Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R 06, but I can’t help but like Tsukasa being girly. 🙂
