Muddying the Definition of “Manga”

I recently saw an announcement on Twitter/X about a new “manga”. The problem is, the person creating this isn’t Japanese. As such, while I’m waiting for midnight to hit for my project, I thought I’d make a video.

 

 

As I write, most people on Twitter/X agree with me. But man, there are some folks who are insanely butt hurt that the term “manga” doesn’t mean anything they want it to mean. Good grief. There’s nothing wrong calling it a “graphic novel”.
