I assume we won’t have the fight’s conclusion in this chapter…
I’ve heard it both ways — some say the fight is over with this chapter and some say no. The only thing that seems sure to me is that this wraps up the Ako aspect.

I didn’t see that coming. Man this week of manga is nothing but “MAN I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING.” THANK YOU for posting this Mr.Astro.
One mark of good writing for me is not seeing something coming. ^_^
Whoooa! for sure. A non-pactio kiss for Negi-kun.
So 245 is NOT going to conclude the match? Or maybe it still might…at the end. Or 245 is going to be a complete flashback chapter, from what some are saying.
Then there’s still a chance for Negi, but it’s hard to logically see him winning.
From the looks of the spoilers, Ako’s story is definitely going to be wrapped up, with a nice conclusion too. A bitter-sweet, yet, appropriate end-yet-new-beginning for Ako.
Until I see more images, I don’t know if there’s going to be more of the match or not. I suppose the chapter could be entirely dedicated to Ako, especially since I believe there will be a chapter break next week. ^_^

Wow, Another kiss for Negi-kun. 😛
It seems he unconditionally knows that he has been the first kiss of most of his class. Well, he is still 10 years old.
Aside that, I hope Akamatsu-sensei covers up or just give insights about Takamichi and Mana’s being in the Magic World a little bit of later (maybe after the fight.).
Aww, another chapter break next week? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next. 🙂

Well, reading through some spoiler threads seems like this is a “farewell” kiss from Ako. She’s definitely a stronger girl than she’s being given credit for (well before this whole arc anyway), being able to accept that this “Nagi” was an illusion and still, being true to her feelings and confessing, then being the one to gracefully let go of that illusion is pretty amazing…
Now I wonder if this confession happened before or after that bathhouse scene with Akira (although I think it happened after…would make more sense)
I’m going to guess that the fight scenes continue once the Ako stuff is concluded, with the count nearing 20 around the last part of this chapter (to make another cliffhanger)….
It probably also helps that (1) Ako has experienced the harshness of the Magic World and (2) understands that Negi made himself as an adult to save her, not to harm her. While it obviously hurts her that the man of her dreams is nothing more than a fantasy, the fact that Negi is 10 likely helps Ako as well. That’s not to play down any of Ako’s strength, but it will help her heal quicker (IMO).
Now for Chamo to get involved with a pactio…*lol*
I will say, I hope it isn’t going to be another chapter break this week coming up. The breaks are kind of coming too consistently. I understand that yeah, they’re needed, but I don’t think I’ve seen an manga where it takes breaks this much. 🙁 Besides of course the ones that come out every other month or two.
Akamatsu-sensei’s deal with Kodansha is that he gets a break every fifth week (4+1). Most of the time, his breaks aren’t to take a week off, but to get back ahead of the game so that he meets his publishing deadlines. I believe that this week he did get a day off to go to an onsen, but normally he’s still working insane hours and sleeping at the office. ^_^;;;
It’s possible that Negi has more than two trump cards, right?
To think that Negi could fall so easily (yes, I said easily) without at least one more backup plan in this situation kinda makes it seem like a cheap victory for Fate. He gets to see all of Negi’s new techniques without Negi learning anything to his advantage.
Negi’s Pactio artifact may be cheap (if he were to use it outside this arena fight), but Fate’s been screwing with Negi since their first encounter. And even if by some miracle Ala Alba is able to rescue Asuna and Anya, subdue Fate’s partners, and Negi manages to get through Fate’s barrier, Fate could once again do the whole “I’m losing, so I’m going to teleport away through the water like a sissy and by the way you’ve been fighting another one of my cheap overpowered water clones again.”
If there were someway for Negi to turn the situation around (maybe by using that verbal contract binding artifact that Fate tried using), there might be a slight chance that Fate could become immobilized so this whole thing can’t happen again.

Um, after seeing what I believe to be the last page of chapter 245, it seems that guess would be wrong… It’s still about Ako x Negi. And it mentions Ken-sensei’s break week of course.

I supposed it could at that. Heh. However, doing so would likely bring down government forces on them and since they were trying to hide, that option was off the table.
