But anyway, just what IS her artefact?
PUPA = girl, doll;
SOMNIANS = dream-maker or something related to sleaping, anyway.
Hm, Dream Doll? Doesn’t sound right. At anyrate, she also gets anti-gravity devices like the ones Chao had, and her artefact looks like a gun from the wat she’s holding it, bur the rear part is conected to a whip, similar to the electric ones her “sisters” had during the school festival.
As for Natsumi, she seems to be embarased of her dress.

I can’t figure out for the life of me what Chachamaru’s artifact might do. As for Natsumi’s, she looks pretty cute in that dress. Heck, it matches the party OK. ^_^
I’m guessing there will be some more images posted RIGHT when I go to bed to try to get a little sleep before my Japanese class. ^_^;
Very cool, Chacha’s pactio look! But, what’s up with that… cat pistol? Yeah, I know she like cats, but I’d never thought her pactio would pull a full cyber-nekomimi based card.

I’m really curious to see what her artifact actually do.
I’m also glad that pactio chapeters are finished. Too many concentrated in few chapters are wasted imho.

I’m not ready to count Natsumi and the sports girls as part of AA yet…
if you think that that looks like chobits it’s only because of the “oreille?”(i forget how say thats in English so…)but that’s cat’s “oreille”(ear?)

I loled a bunch when her astrological sign was Venus, named for the goddess of love. And it might just be me, but does it look like she’s holding something like a tonfa-sickle thing in her left hand?

I think Natsumi’s artifact being a disguise is shaping up, depending if you take Chachamaru’s expression to be confused/puzzled, like maybe it fades into obscurity so you can’t notice her? It would go well with her whole “I’m just a side character” complex

Also, cat pistol=WTF? And the anon at 9:19 is right in that the cat ears do make her look like a persocom from Chobits.

It looks like it’s a tail, as per her pactio’s cat theme. Catgirls seem to be Akamatsu-sensei’s thing this arc. Of course, it’s so adorably moe, so I’m not complaining.
Regarding Natsumi’s artifact, I guess Natsumi kinda has to use it now, since her regular dress got ripped running from Kota. Maybe we’ll get to see what it actually does. Maybe it’ll be played for laughs and it won’t do anything at all since Kota’s a non-mage magister.
I kept thinking, “why a cat-related artifact?” Then I suddenly remembered volume 3 where Chachamaru is shown to take care of a large group of stray cats by making sure they get fed. That aspect of Chachamaru had been forgotten (at least, I don’t remember it coming up again) until now.
pupa somnians – as fg7dragon observed, pupa has a nice little double meaning. It primarily refers to a little girl, but figuratively could mean a puppet or a doll. It’s right up there with her surname being Karakuri. And somnians does indeed mean “dreaming.”
Historically, it seems like pactio “card names” are more often a description of the girl rather than her power. It looks like that’s the case here, unfortunately.

Her virtus (strength) of caritas (affection/love) is the same as Konoka’s, like Anon said. And it’s also the same as Ako’s non-canon Nurse card. So healing of some sort does seem likely.
It’s almost certain that whatever she’s holding is her artifact, if past pactio cards are a reliable indicator. But I have no idea how something that looks to me like a giant data cable could be related to healing. (Or my personal favorite, turning her into a “real girl” a la Pinocchio.)
I also remember in the issue that reveals that chachamaru is in love with negi through her favourites folder also showed a picture of a cat as well

And Dreaming Doll is a correct description of Chachamaru. A doll dreaming of being human…

We get another recharge scene of Maru’s magical energy done by Negi again which is far more interesting than the previous one. Also it looks like Negi used full force magic power when he kissed Maru (looked to me like they Deep Kissed which looks interesting).
Raw is out… some serious love-love between Chachamaru and Negi. (It’s been a long time, so I’m not sure… but I don’t think even Naru and Keitaro ever made out that heavily “on-screen.”) I don’t want to say any more and spoil it, but it’s definitely good story and not just fanservice.
So, will Makie be next? (^_^)
Oh Yeah i forgot to mention, that there doesn’t seems to be any sort of date or number given at the end of this chapter which points to that there is no chapter next week.
So “AstroNerdBoy” is it really true that there is no chapter next week because it donot seems to me like that by seeing the end part (since i don’t know japanese i am not sure about it).
Raws are out, and I think we have a new record for pactio kiss length. Wow… just, wow. O_O And that’s not all that happens (no, not that… well, not for real, anyways :p). Negi/Chachamaru shippers are gonna love this one.
Can’t wait for the English version. Definitely going in my top 5 chapters.
Also, after getting a better look at Chachamaru’s pactio card, that electric whip/tentacle thing (if it’s the same thing fake Chachamaru from ch. 153 had) is definitely supposed to be a cat tail matching her cat-like ears. I still wonder what the three “fins” (which all look different) and the cat-gun thing do.

Ok so my guess (this is before the trans comes out) the reason for the length of the kiss and the increase magic power is the pactio didn’t go as expected. At first negi did the normal thing he is used to by know, but when nothing happened. he cranked up the magic power and the kiss 10 fold and pretty much blew a circuit somewhere and forced the card into existence. this also leaves me to believe that her pactio might be more powerful because of the amount of magical energy that was used to form the pactio.
Lastly with the patcio does she still need to be recharged, since she can know draw magic directly from negi.
I figured that her having a pactio would be a separate element from her needing to be wound. After all, having a pactio with Negi doesn’t mean Asuna, Setsuna, etc. don’t need to eat. I guess Chachamaru’s explaining how her being wound worked by comparing it to a pactio energy draw is where things got thrown off for some.

I dont think the amount of magic matter in this case (unless Akamatsu introduce new facts in future). No matter how much magic NEgi force, pactio would not form…
… without certain emotions on his partner.
All the pactios scenes show that the emotions of the maiden is important. His first kiss with Asuna is akward on both sides as their relationship is not that good, so the romantic factor became low and the card turned out to be funny and temporary. Every other pactio later is satisfactory in term of luuuuuuv.
And now this time Chachamaru got in trouble. She’s too concerned with the issue of soul to concentrate properly to the kiss, thus the lateness. And when Negi turn on the heat, namely the magic aura, it activate her recharging mechanism and, well, turn her on. Pactio form!
If that is another girl, and she got distracted during the kiss like Chachamaru, I dont think Negi could turn her that way. (other ways to turn her on, of course, still remain opened).

Chachamarus artifact is laser gun that tags something for a weapons satellite .Whether the activation calls both laser gun and satellite into existence is unknown though.
