Keroro Gunsou – 097

ケロロ軍曹/Sgt. Frog/Keroro Gunsou Anime episode 97

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Keroro Gunsou - 097Momoka is having the HINATA Fuyuki Museum constructed, but doesn’t have the perfect photo that captures the true essence of Fuyuki.  Tamama decides to consult with Keroro to help Momoka, but he decides he wants to turn this into a business venture. Meanwhile, Momoka attempts to grab a good photo of Fuyuki but fails. However, she literally runs into Chiruyo from the KGS (news) club and discovers the girl has the perfect picture of Fuyuki but won’t sell it. Keroro has arranged for Momoko to be invisible and borrow his camera to take a picture while Fuyuki is a willing captive, thinking this is a UFO experience. Momoka can’t get the shot while Chiruyo arrives and is detected by the bases sensors. The result has all of them sent down a chute where Momoka saves everyone but Keroro, who’s after his camera. Afterward, Momoka and Chiruyo become friends and rivals. Chiruyo gives Momoka a copy of her picture and Momoka cancels the museum project.

Keroro Gunsou - 097Keroro gets Fuyuki to play one of Keroro’s childhood games, which involves chasing a ball that has to be caught in 30-minutes or it explodes. After catching it in time near Fuyuki’s grandmother’s home, Fuyuki convinces Keroro to pay Grandma a visit. She’s not home, but they make themselves at home and after some kotatsu time, they play hide and seek, go sliding down the main hall, and do other things before taking a bath. Since Grandma still hasn’t come home, Fuyuki and Keroro leave notes and take off.  Returning home, they find Natsumi slightly irritated that they’ve been gone so long, but still forgiving. Meanwhile, Grandma comes home and finds the notes and to herself, says that Fuyuki and Keroro are welcome to come over at any time.

Thoughts/Review:

The first story was pretty predictable, but still somewhat fun. It seemed familiar to me, so it may have been a manga story. Either way, I liked how Momoka and Chiruyo became friends.

Keroro Gunsou - 097

The second story was a little more meaningful. I liked how Fuyuki realized how much he’d grown and the nostalgia of playing at Grandma’s place as a kid. I think many of us have had similar experiences as older kids realizing things aren’t as big as we remember or the like.

Keroro Gunsou - 097

So, a fun couple of stories with the later being more impactful, in my opinion.
