ラストエグザイル-銀翼のファム-/Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam
Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing episode 14
The Turan Exile has utterly defeated the Glacies Exile, in the process, completely devastating the capital and the lands all around. Dion and the surviving Rocket Fighter pilots are depressed at their defeat when they receive a surprise visit from 5th Fleet Commander Vasant. The Glacies pilots immediately suspect Vasant, but after offering overtures to help them, aided by the fact that she is from Chaos and that the Chaos military has been wiped out by Luscinia’s plan, they listen to what she has to say. Meanwhile, Luscinia puts 1st Fleet Commander Sadri in charge of Glacies and the military invasion of Anatoray-Disith, to happen in one week, while the damaged Ades fleets are repaired. At the same time, Luscinia tells Sadri that he’s going on a secret mission for the world peace.
Back at the heavily damaged Kartoffel, the Sky Pirates realize how outmatched they’d always been against a serious Federation, but make repairs and continue their support for Millia and Turan. Millia wants to recapture the Federation ship Anshar to fly to Anatoray for additional personnel before going after Liliana to kill her. Millia’s attitude toward Liliana frustrates Fam, causing her to grab Gisey and challenge Fritz to a race. As Millia watches the race with Gisey’s mom, she has a change of heart about killing Liliana and makes up with Fam after the race. However, a Federation courier arrives with a letter from Empress Sārā Augusta, announcing she is no longer supporting Luscinia’s campaign. As such, she requests Millia’s help, leading Millia to conclude that there is a rebellion in the Ades military against Luscinia, which has caused Sārā to do this. This rebellion is lead by Vasant.
As I suspected, Vasant wouldn’t take the slaughtering of her people lying down, and having been a surrogate mother to Empress Sārā Augusta, it is easy to see how she would influence the empress into drafting that letter to Millia. Does Vasant now have a death flag raised? I tend to think so, though I hope not.
The thing is, since Luscinia is the Premier, how will the other military commanders, all of whom seem to have questions of one sort or other about their actions, react to these events? Will they obey the empress? It would seem they have to, but I’m not sure if all would or not.
Luscinia conveniently abandons the front with Alauda for whatever secret mission for peace he’s on. Considering how the story has been crafted, I suspect that Vasant’s rebellion was part of Luscinia’s consideration as he did what he did. He’s not interested in being loyal to Ades as he is for his vision of world peace, where he controls everything.
Luscinia is putting down all resistance everywhere, but at the same time, he’s also weakening the Ades military. I think that Sadri being ordered to invade Anatoray is a plan by Luscinia to weaken that fleet. Then, Luscinia can come in with his Guild buddies and wipe out what’s left of the Ades’ fleets.
We’ll see if I’m right or not, but of course, even if I am, the ultimate result will be Luscinia being defeated and even being redeemed.
Finally, the whole dust up between Fam and Millia made me go, “Been here, done that.” Gisey anyone? *_* So that whole thing, as well as the race, did nothing for me.
I’m looking forward to seeing if my predictions are correct or not.
I for one think the Guild, or atleast a part of it lead by Luscinia, is behind the whole situation. They are using Aeds’s fleets to destroy the smaller nations, and thereby weakening any possible opposition when they take control. After all, they have the Starfighters, and have found an Guild like those used by the Prester Guild.
What they may not know is the Anatoray-Disith has defeated part of Prester’s Guild already, and know how to fight the Guild advance technology. The question will be if Al and her Exile can defeat Liliana and her Exile.
I agree with you except for one element — Luscinia wouldn’t be worried about Silvius unless he knows (or suspects) it is actually the Silvana from Prester (or at least, based in part on the Silvana).
