Happy Halloween with Anime Scooby Doo!

Hey gang! I’ve lost track of how many days in a row I’ve worked now, but since I still want to get something posted to the blog, I’m going the old image route. ^_^

Since it is Halloween, I planned to find some nifty, theme-related, anime image for this post, and was almost ready to settle for a Fairy Tail image I’d seen, when I was made aware of this anime-style Scooby Doo image. I found it to be so awesome, I had to share.

Anime Scooby Doo

I can’t watch Scooby Doo today, due to the fact that it would melt my brain, but were this to be a promo image of some Japanese-produced Scooby Doo, I think I’d have to actually take a risk and watch it. *lol*

The artist is a person named Dhutchison, who did this image for Anime Insider.

OK, be safe and have fun tonight, y’all! ^_^

    I remember this image. Instant Velma fan, lol.

    Happy Halloween!

    I think Mystery Inc. (the current Scooby toon) is the closest we’ll get to “anime” style Scooby Doo. Hell, some of the writing makes certain jokes in anime seem tame in comparison.

    For example Velma and Shaggy hooking up in Season 1 and Shaggy hiding it from Scooby because he didn’t want to make him jealous. Then when said dog catches them making out the first words out of his mouth are:

    “Raggy, are ru cheating on mre?”

    O_O

    I actually dig this image. All of the sudden, feel an urge to watch some classic Scooby xD

    Yeah, the current show ‘Mystery Inc.’ is great, probably the best Scooby toon ever in my own opinion. I do dislike the dogging on Scrappy though, I actually always liked that character.

    As far as anime Scooby goes, I’ve actually had a crazy pipe dream for years now of what a crossover between Lupin the 3rd and Scooby might be like. They’re not horribly similar on the surface level, but think about it – they’re both classic vintage animation, both continue to get new movies and the occasional series even after all this time, and continue to endure in popularity too. If a good plot could be made for such a crossover and it was made, I’d watch it immediately. šŸ˜›

    As someone who utterly loathed Scooby-Doo even as a child (My brother and I would watch the show specifically to make fun of it o_o), I have to say that the new Scooby Doo! Mystery Inc. series is pretty damn good. There’s romance, humor that’s witty and self-aware, and a continuing story arc that seems to be spanning for about two or three seasons. It just sucks that it seems to be getting screwed by the network, though (Kinda like the amazing new ThunderCats cartoon before it recently got picked up by Toonami; true story, that one’s actually made by Studio 4C!). But still, it’s a really good show that’s really convinced me that there can actually be some good that can come out of that stupid franchise. LMAO! XD

      The problem with not having access to cable or satellite is not being aware of some things like this. ^_^;

      Well, if you’re ever interested, you could either stream it online or buy the first DVD. It’s only got the first four episodes, so if you get into it, you can get the rest (It’s halfway into Season 2, but it’s on hiatus right now.). If not, well… it was only a few bucks anyway. =P

      That’s always an option, but these days, I don’t have any free time. šŸ™ I haven’t even managed to watch the Doctor Who episodes that came out earlier, save one or two.
