Jormungand: Perfect Order – 04

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04Kasper and his team are in Jakarta, getting more bad news and losing business. With a typhoon moving in, Kasper and his team head to a local restaurant.  They discuss R’s death, and toast him.  Afterward, they discuss the elusive “ghost” Japanese firm that is apparently trying to put HCLI out of business in Southeast Asia. As the typhoon’s eye passes over, Kasper’s team takes advantage of the second part of the storm to put a hit on the adult son of a former Kasper client, one Korwit Nualkhair. The goal is to leave a message to this ghost company about interfering with HCLI while making the assassination appear to be an arned robbery that used the cover of the storm to be executed.

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04Meanwhile, Koko’s team goes to Japan at Kasper’s request, where Jonah thinks of the orphans in Kasper’s care. She lets her team have fun until Kasper’s team arrives, to keep them from being depressed about R’s death. Koko has Kasper take Jonah to see the orphans at the international school he’s put them in, where they are also housed and fed. Jonah sees the trio looking good through the car window, but declines to see them personally, and states that at least Kasper kept his word. However, he refuses to work for Kasper when his job with Koko ends.  Sometime later, Kasper’s and Koko’s teams meet in a cafe, where it is revealed that Tojo’s old Defense Intelligence unit is the force trying to push HCLI out of Southeast Asia.

Thoughts/Review:

Man, don’t jack with arms dealers, eh?

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04

It appears Kasper’s plan was a success if the Jakarta police believed the hit on Korwit Nualkhair was a robbery.  In my mind, I can’t help but think that the bullets to the heads of Nualkhair and his bodyguards screams “professional hit job.”  I suppose that the Jakarta police are idiots, but the Japanese DIH team are smart enough to see this, thus understand the message being sent to them.

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04

I like how Koko is attempting to keep the spirits of everyone up after R’s death.  I also like that she apparently hasn’t told anyone that R was a CIA plant.

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04

It is interesting that Jonah declined to see the orphans in person.  To be honest, that’s a very mature thing to do on his part, as it avoids certain questions (like how he got there), and it also keeps other forces trying to get to Koko via Jonah from having new targets.

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04

As to Tojo from Koko’s team being connected to the folks trying to muscle Kasper and HCLI out of Southeast Asia, I don’t really have any comments since I don’t know jack about Tojo. Somehow, I doubt he’ll prove to be a spy the way R was, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Jormungand: Perfect Order - 04

Not much else to talk about since the episode contained a lot of filler, some of it showing Kasper’s team relaxing and on the job (which was nice), and some replaying Jonah’s backstory from last series (and thus confirming that this time, the animators have put Chiquita and Valmet on steroids). I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.

    I think that Jonah simply didn’t want to involve the kids in his world. He’s still a soldier and they live a peaceful life as was the agreement between Kasper and Jonah.

    P.S. I expected the kids to be dead, btw.

      I promised that I’d watch it, but he’d probably have to keep reminding me to do so since my backlog is so big. ^_^;;;

      @Anon:
      It’s a kind of magic… or tradition. Anyway, if ANB finally watches it, I’ll start bugging/reminding him for another show (“Baccano!” comes to mind).

      And why it’s a “crap”? Have watched it? At least the first few episodes?
