ハヤテのごとく!/Hayate no Gotoku Chapter 415 Review
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
With Risa having caused Izumi’s special glasses to call Ruka a thief for her interest in Hayate, the two go into the resident part of Wataru’s shop to discuss this further. Izumi tries to proclaim her innocence, but the glasses won’t speak again and Ruka isn’t believing it. Ruka declares that Izumi must have feelings for Hayate, causing her to get flustered while Miki and Risa get excited by this battlefield. When Ruka wants to know how Izumi feels about Hayate, Risa has the glasses call their relationship physical.
Ruka is shocked by this and completely doesn’t approve of teenagers in this kind of relationship. Again, Izumi tries to proclaim her innocence, but to no avail. Hayate enters the room, so Ruka demands to know from him about his relationship with Izumi. His response leads to Ruka getting the continued wrong idea. She asks Izumi if she loves Hayate. Izumi can’t say, but Ruka can and does.
A shocked Risa has Izumi’s glasses as what Hayate likes about Ruka. Hayate says there are many things, but cites his first time seeing Ruka, where he says he thought she looked like a goddess. An embarrassed Ruka thanks Hayate.
Hayate gets a call from Ruka’s manager, Atsumari, saying there’s a concert that she needs Ruka to do on the following day in order to allow Ruka to carry on. She wants Ruka to make an announcement at the concert on whether she’s continue to be an idol or if she’ll retire.
Thoughts/Review:
Har! Leave it to Miki and Risa to stir the pot again and again. ^_^
The humor stuff of the chapter was pretty much what one would expect considering Risa’s and Miki’s involvement. I got smiles from it all, but no laughs.
I did like Hayate’s fast thinking when put on the spot to say what he liked about Ruka. Obviously, Ruka liked what he had to say based on her reaction. ^_^
Considering we already knew that Ruka would be having a concert, it was unsurprising that her manager would call Hayate to have that happen. It was a bit surprising to me to have Atsumari lay out a demand of Ruka to choose between being an idol or quitting the business and doing something else. I don’t think it will be much of a bet to say that Ruka will choose to continue to be an idol, which would necessitate her giving up Hayate. I guess I’m just looking for means by which Nagi could lose the doujinshi competition but not Hayate.
Of course, Hata-sensei could have Nagi actually win, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the next chapter to see how Ruka reacts to her manager’s demand.
