UQ Holder Chapter 2 SPOILER Image(s) (Update #2)

OK, new SPOILER image arrived yesterday evening, but I didn’t catch it until today. ^_^;

So, those worried that the original Eva wouldn’t be around, that looks not to be the case. Color me excited.  ^_^

The Japanese are doing some character assessment speculation, which I found interesting in this non-spoiler image.

We’ll see how that pans out.  MORE: Additionally, it appears that the guy in the top image is an android like Chachazero. The third girl is apparently from Mahora (I think we probably guessed that), and the speculation is that everyone in this new manga may be immortal. That could be interesting.

Update #1: Some text stuff from 2CH, courtesy of Reddy Red Wolf.

My Japanese isn’t that good to translate all but what I can take from it: They met a girl on the way, name is Yuuki Shinobu, she help fixing their flying bike (or they help hers). She wants to participate on the Solar System Olympics that happens once every 8 years and will be happening soon. Apparently her uncle looks a lot like Takamichi. The rest of text spoilers seems to be what we saw on that spoiler pic.

Update #2: A more complete translation from 2CH, courtesy of Red Savant.

In a village along the way, they meet a girl(?) named Yuuki Shinobu and fix her flying motorcycle.

Shinobu is also heading for the tower. At the base, there is a competition held once every eight years, the Taiyoukei Olympics, and competing in them is Shinobu’s dream.

Shinobu’s dad looks just like Takamichi?

While they’re with Shinobu, Yukihime returns to her usual young (Eva) form. Yukihime was using specially-made Age-Changing Pills to change her form.

If anyone finds any more spoiler images or info, do share as always. ^_^

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Not surprised to see the analogies between some of the characters.

MORE: Additionally, it appears that the guy in the top image is an android like Chachazero.

I think you mean Chachamaru. I saw his mechanical parts, when Hata pointed that out. My guess is that if he is not an android, then he is either wearing a suit (like Paio II, haha) or a cyborg. Or both.

About the guy with the mop: Well… his hair did look a bit like a crossover of Kaede and Negi’s one. I don’t remember who, but someone pointed that out already, though I don’t really think he is related to Kaede in any way.

The Mahora girl: Huh… would be nice if she has some of Yue’s traits. We need more mages in the group, I saw too many characters with swords.

The Setsuna-lookalike: Well, I think that’s what many old readers probably thought…

Btw, first time I saw the color spread, I thought the tanned guy with the sword is a young Dynamis or a relative of Mana’s, lol.

Anyway, about the spoiler pic: Am I tired or do Eva’s eyes look very different in UQH? And I hope she stays in her adult form. I like her Yukihime design. Her name Yukihime is also very sweet and fitting.

      >I think you mean Chachamaru.

      D’oh! Yeah, I’m notorious for thinking one thing and typing something else. VERY frustrating. ^_^;

Possibly. I think I saw a comparison image somewhere (I didn’t save it, naturally) of “adult” Eva on the night she had her dinner with Negi and Yukihime-Eva. The only major difference that I saw was the non-bang haircut.

  2. I think the third girl in the second image next to yue looks a lot like Chao. I hope it is her.

Let’s talk about stolen characters… 😉 The second guy (on the second pic) has (had?) a bride/wife, named Kobato. 😀

And… In the first chap, on of the five guy, the biggest, the fattest is a classmate of Tenchi in the first OVA. 🙂

    It’s me, or…? I’m not against crossover at all, but… 😉 May I count… er… Urd? 😉 or Ranma? XD

  5. SH from MH says:

One question i have regarding this new series is in which dimension is the story taking place.

At the end of MSN, we atleast ended up with 3 different parallel dimensions each with its own story. Its obvious that this isn’t Future Chao’s timeline, so which of the other 2 would it be or is there a possibility of another timeline being created.

Also since this story is set around 63 years after the events of MSN, and is meant to deal with the activities of Immortals, so are we going to possibly see the sealed Asuna in the story some were around the line who is meant to wake up in another 69 years in 2135AD (well since Eva is meant to meet her along with Future Chao who most likely would make an appearance in this story).

    • Farray says:

The story takes place in the eighties, not the sixties. That was discussed in the first chapter review and cleaner magazine raws showed that Touta’s parents died in 2084. Otherwise, Touta’s parents would have been way too young when he was born.

Personally, I think it’s a complete new dimension. Magic has only been made officially public for ten years and a new dimension gives Akamatsu more freedom for developing the story.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That certainly is a possibility. At the moment, one of the popular theories is that this is the timeline in which Negi dies, Asuna oversleeps, and Ayaka moves to Mars as a very old woman, waiting for Asuna. But, if Akamatsu-sensei does move this to a 4th timeline, then he does have freedom to do more.

I’m not sure where he’s going, but I’d like to think he’d go with the timeline that would get me some answers, darn it. ^_~

Ah this feels weird… picked up Love Hina when it was published in full…. picke dup Negima halfway through the ‘magic world’ arc…. now FINALLY I get to follow a Ken Akamatsu manga from start to finish… should be fun! 🙂

Doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of spoilers this week.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That happens sometimes. I remember during the Negima days, some weeks we’d get spoilers from a certain source, then that source would dry up. Then there’d be nothing for a while, but then a new source would appear and well, that would be that.

  8. Ultimaniac says:

Gotta admit, it’s good to see Eva the way we all know and love her. I’m a little worried though. Akamatsu-sensei might be setting a trap for himself. Drawing Eva as she’s been in Negima might make him unconsciously start writing her dialogue the way it was before. If she reverts to her old personality then the whole ‘change over time’ defense is gone. It doesn’t look like that’s the case in the spoiler image though so that’s a good sign.

Something interesting that popped on 4ch:

So apparently CanonRap got the raws already… I hope he will be translating it…

Shinobu is very much an expy of Shinobu Maehara … Hoody is similar, hair is similar and so on …

  12. SL from MH says:

Saw the raws and have nothing to say regarding it except that Shinobu looks kind of like the combination of Nodoka & Madoka from MSN.

I have one question though (it isn’t related to this chapter but is related to the first chapter).

In the 2nd colour page (2nd panel) of the 1st chapter, we see Eva leaving behind her friends of Class 3-A. In that panel we see Natsumi at the far end right side.

Now my question is, doesn’t Natsumi look like she is pregnant in that panel. I mean her one hand is on her hip and their seems to slight bulge around her stomach.

Don’t know if this is just something that i am imagining by myself or its something that would play role later on in the series.

Also are we sure that Negi is really dead in this story. I mean maybe he faked his death in front of the whole world and is now hiding around (or living with another identity) like Eva is since like her, he is also supposed to be an immortal (who are usually not liked by either normal or magical people).

The reason i feel it is because of the grave/memorial of Negi in that unknown country side village. Why is something like that doing in a place like that (wasn’t Negi supposed to be a really famous person).
Also based on one of the known time-lines of MSN, Negi’s grave was supposed to be nearby a place were one can easily see the base level of Amanomihashira (MSN ch 352). But from this country side village, we can’t see the base at all.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

My review is coming out later today. ^_^

      >Now my question is, doesn’t Natsumi look like she is pregnant in that panel. I mean her one hand is on her hip and their seems to slight bulge around her stomach.

Yeah, I didn’t think about it when I first saw the images, but some others like you have noticed this as well. She does marry Kotaro so for all we know, she was pregnant then.

      >Also are we sure that Negi is really dead in this story.

Nothing is certain to be sure, but I do wonder if Hata wants to have Negi dead for specific story reason. Unlike Negima, where Nagi was supposed to be dead, but we knew that wasn’t true from day one, this time, there are no other elements to suggest that Negi is alive…not yet at least.
