Happy New Year 2014! (明けましておめでとうございます!)

Happy new year 2014, everyone! ^_^ I hope your new year 2014 is going well. ^_^

Man, it is hard to believe another year has come and gone.  I’ve had this blog going for just over seven years now (starting back on December 27, 2006). I’ve gone through three versions, starting with a default theme on Blogger, then the Chobits theme on Blogger, and now this new theme on my own domain using the WordPress engine. I’ve gotten to watch a lot of anime over the years in addition to reading a lot of manga. For that, I am truly thankful.

I’m also thankful to all of you who take the time to read this blog, more so since there are so many times where I tell someone that I’ll read “this” or watch “that”, but then things happen so that I never seem to work some of those in (some I get, some I don’t). That being said, I want you all to know that even if I haven’t gotten to a specific title you’ve recommended, it is only because of my own poor time management skills. ^_^;;;

Regardless, it is a new year, and in addition to losing weight (which if you are bored and need toilet reading material, you can follow on my personal blog), there are things I want to get done in 2014.

  • Finally blog Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-ohki OVA 3 (something I’ve promised to do for years now).
  • Finally watch Level E and series blog it.
  • Finally watch Sword Art Online and series blog. (Isn’t there a related title with this?)
  • Finally watch Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and series blog it.
  • Finally read the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma ☆ Illya manga and volume blog it to current.

I’ll be somewhat hampered for a while in watching/reading much extra since I have SOOO much work to do on old posts here. As I’m writing this, there’s some 2800 posts still to fix by hand, which stinks but there ya go. ^_^;

Still, I’m looking forward to 2014. I hope it will be a good one for all of us. ^_^

New Year 2014

    And another suggestion for you to read: a manhwa titled: “Oh, My God!” or OMG for short.
    http://read.egscans.com/Oh,_My_God!/Chapter_001&display=webtoon

    There are 11 chapters scanlated so far and it is a webtoon, so it should be shorter and faster to read than a normal manga chapter. (Remember – read korean manhwa is read from left-to-right like a normal western comic!)

    Some random info from EasyGoingScans:

    Title: OMG
    Genre: Comedy, Supernatural
    Reading order: Left to right
    Author: Hyun Yeh-Ji and Kang Ji-Young
    Artist: Hyun Yeh-Ji and Kang Ji-Young
    Status in Country of Origin: Ongoing
    Description: (From Batoto) In Heaven there is a company run by gods of different religions. When God claims he wants to end the earth, the gods are called together for a meeting when suddenly an unlikely situation brings even bigger conflict among the higher beings.

    P.S. The BBC’s Sherlock is out, so lets go watch it!

      I’ll have to check that out. Never read a manhwa.

      As to Sherlock, you don’t have to tell me twice. *lol*

        I think you’ll like this one. I tried to choose a rather good one. If you happen to like manhwas, I’ll try to find some of the more interesting ones.

        As for Sherlock, you can try and blog him too. 😉

          Depends on time. I’d always wanted to have my personal blog pick up some non-anime stuff, but time is a factor. Right now, I’ve got months of work to do just getting every post on the anime blog fixed due to the migration causing image malfunctions as well as other formatting issues. 🙁

      Uh, forgot to tell you, ANB: good choice for the 2014’s plan. I suggest you start from the top. 😉

      P.S.: “Sword Art Online” is connected to “Accel World”: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8691

      Here are some relations: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=rel&aid=8691

      P.S.2: Does anyone know good fansub groups for “Space Battleship Yamato 2199”? For the first 2 episodes Nubles sucked (missing lines, I think some parts didn’t make sense when I watched it, etc.), and I heard that x4subs was just slightly better. Dunno if any of them got better and reworked the episodes at a later stage, but lets asume they didn’t until proven that they corrected them.

      So, where’re left with DHD, Femme, Kamigami, and LazySlav. Which one of them is the King of Fansubing for Yamato 2199? Lets find the Champion!

        I don’t remember which group I saw the first couple of episodes. I’d have to look now. ^_^;

        Oh and thanks for the other information. ^_^

        • evgenidb says:

          Nubles I think. The one that sucked the most. I think they used the official subs on the BD, which had issues in themselves, and Nubles either didn’t do anything to correct them or didn’t try hard enough.

            I’d have to go upstairs to check what I have and at the moment, I’m rather tied to the 1st floor for cooking purposes. ^_^;

  2. Doing another test as requested.

    Oh my, School Rumble. One of the best series out there. And one that made me got inside scanlating etc. I owe this series lots.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      Yeah, it is a real shame what happened to the series in America. 🙁 I’ll never be able to get the complete set for my bookshelves. But yeah, it was a good series. I wish I could read more of Kobayashi-sensei’s works.
