UQ Holder Chapter 25 SPOILERS (now with an image or two)

Here are some SPOILERS w/ predictions (no images yet) from the upcoming UQ Holder chapter 25, courtesy of the gracious Hata. (My review of UQ Holder chapter 25 should come out Wednesday.)

UQ HOLDER CHAPTER 25 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder chapter 25 goodness (sans images) begins.^_^

 — Kaito is the one asking the arm wrestling duel. (I was originally guessing Tota from seeing the spoiler.)
— Magia Erebea will be a continuous issue for Tota for the foreseeable future. the negative emotions should be a story plot going forward.
— I think my prediction of Kaito joining the good side is going to be fulfill, (if not on the same side, at the minimum, a friend) hard to see the direction of Nagumo, thought.
— this mini battle arc should be approaching the end, and I am predicting Chao will play the role of Fate from Negima, the one bad guy who will return as foe, that would be a nice subplot between him and Karin.
— so if Magia Erebea is NOT Tota’s inner true power, then what is it?
— I think Ken is trying to give the impression that Tota at this stage, is actually more powerful than Negi about the same time sans magic, only if he knows how to harness his power.
— still like my theory of Tota creation from Negi’s DNA, is Negi’s body being possess by LM now? no idea, what happened last chapter is a tease, I seriously doubt Ken will reveal the whole plots this quickly. (only in pieces slowly)
— one thing for sure, Tota won’t lose to Kuroumaru in arm wrestling again.

I don’t know why there are no images. I try not to bother Southrop on these things since he is graciously allowing me to share the images he has access to. I get the feeling he hasn’t even translated this weekend.

As an aside, I seem to see a much higher than normal level of DMCA takedown notices when doing UQ Holder searches on Google.  Further peeking around revealed this from MangaFox.

The series UQ Holder! has been licensed, it is not available in Manga Fox.

They have through chapter 24 up.

I know Akamatsu-sensei has not been happy with scanlators putting out the chapter as early as Saturday morning in the US, not that this stopped them from doing it. If Kodansha Comics has laid the smack down, then everyone may just have to wait until Tuesday evening (US time) for Crunchyroll to uploaded it…when they get around to it. (They obviously couldn’t keep a “we’ll have it up by 16:00PT” time, which is why they no longer make that promise.)

Thanks to Hata for sharing this (likely from Chinese scans, which I haven’t seen yet).  If any images appear before Tuesday, I’ll update this post.

UQ Holder Chapter 25 spoiler info

Update: As expected, the Chinese scans of UQ Holder chapter 25 are out. I’m not bothering to grab a lot, but to show what Hata was talking about.

UQ Holder Chapter 25 SPOILERS

And it takes however many pages to produce this.

UQ Holder Chapter 25 SPOILERS

*lol* Yeah, I did say “SPOILERS” didn’t I? Not that you expected any other kind of outcome. ^_~

Without knowing the text, the chapter seems fairly boring. After the awesomeness of last week, I guess that’s to be expected.

MangaFox has been displaying that warning for all Japanese manga for a few days now. There’s a lot of speculation why on the forum, but all the staff have said in response so far is that they’re working on it.

(That’s not to say Kodansha hasn’t broadly laid the smack down… I suspect that the question is “when” they will, not “if”.)

  2. OverMaster says:

Of course Magia Erebea couldn’t be Touta’s true power, it HAS TO be something even more powerful and kewler and impressive! Ah ha ha ha, oh man, at this point it’s just ridiculous.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      Naturally. ^_~

      • Random Lurker says:

Actually, based on the raws of the chapter, this “new power” of Touta seems to be that
“using earths energy to fuel Shundou” (or whatever it was Kaito taught Touta) from few chapters ago.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

You’ve given me my epiphany on Touta, which I’ll expound upon in Wednesday’s review post.

  3. ded says:

that’s not even a spoiler, just predictions written in broken English

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

There are spoilers in there. I guess having read Hata’s stuff for years (from the Negima stuff he’d write), I know how to pick them out. That being said, we know that (1) Touta does not kill Kaito; (2) Kaito and Touta have an arm wrestling match; (3) Touta wins said match; (4) Touta has some control over Magia Erebea, but not total control.

I should have been more clear about Hata’s predictions though. That being said, Hata was really good about predicting things in Negima. ^_~

“That being said, Hata was really good about predicting things in Negima.”

Like the prediction that MW was Mars, that the speed between the two was differently and the reason being the disconnection between the two worlds with the gateports destruction. Those way before the manga revealed it.

Although I don’t think it was Hata who made those predictions, but that he read somewhere else. Still he was generally good at siding with predication that actually became true, in part from being able to look at the story with little bias.

Well, I agree that he did read other opinions and those may have influenced him. That being said (and I admit, I may be biased toward Hata), I’ve learned that Hata is pretty spot on.

Too bad CanonRap isn’t involved any more (at least, that I can tell).

  4. Crono says:

Then we find out that Touta is actually Negi or a reincarnation of him. XD

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

*LOL* Yes, I’m already braced for that. ^_~

      • Hiss13 says:

In all honesty, Touta being a sealed Negi seems like a decent possibility and I’m perfectly fine with that.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

*lol* I’d laugh if that happened. I have just had an epiphany though. I got to remember to share that when I review the chapter on Wednesday.

  5. lol akamatsu-sensei gotta be kidding , Last-week`s chapter was epic , Now we`re having an arm-wrestle this week ? C`mon….

  6. Aki says:

Hmmm I doubt touta is stronger than negi… Base form… Maybe if not on par but in terms of peak… Negi is stronger due to armament features whilst touta can’t produce and load magic.

    • True story , It`s too early to say that Touta is stronger than Negi , At this point , Touta is somewhere Negi`s level during when he fought the Bounty Hunters and The negotiation with Fate , But i could be wrong though , Maybe higher ?

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think the only thing Negi has over Touta (which makes Negi stronger by default) is magic. Negi can cast massively powerful offensive spells as well as powerful defensive spells. Touta can’t do that (yet) so Negi wins.

That being said, I think that if you strip Negi of his magic and force him to fight toe-to-toe with Touta, all Negi would have as an advantage is battle experience. Otherwise, Touta’s already there in terms of power and strength.

        • Ah yes , Thats the only advantage Negi has and Speaking of battle-experiences , I wonder though if Negi continued training Martial Arts with Ku-Fei and / or after she died , Since Negi`s martial arts needed polishing.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

I suspect that based on how Negi was throughout Negima, he did continue training.

        • Random Lurker says:

Actually, spells have another big advantage for Negi, aside from casting them:
Magia Erebea absorbs a spell to power up the user. So if Touta can’t cast magic, he shouldn’t be able to use ME to its full potential. For example, Negi’s Lightning form shouldn’t be usable by him.
          “Shouldn’t” because I’m not yet prepared to believe that Akamatsu-sensei can’t somehow write Touta able to absorb spells anyway ^^;

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

I fully expect that to happen down the road (and more).

      • Aki says:

Touta at the level where negi got owned for being over confident and almost got killed by the shadow weaver

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

Touta at the level where negi got owned for being over confident and almost got killed by the shadow weaver

          And Touta, just when one thinks he’s about to get owned and schooled, pulls a rabbit out of the hat. ^_^;

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I’d say the only thing Negi has on Touta is spells. So that would make Negi still stronger, but outside that, I think Touta is at Negi’s level.

  7. Dargor says:

Chapter 25 Negi was a squishy wizard who truly had no combat experience, and even then, was still outclassed by the likes of Kaede and on par with Setsuna when they first got to MM. Negi might have been able to coup with Touta if we take the latter from the very first chapter, but the kid is already early MM arc material as it stands.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think we are pretty much on the same page. As I see it, Touta in relative terms to Negi when it comes to power and abilities at similar times in the manga (taking into account Touta’s month underground), then Touta wins as Negi would be outclassed by ME. Negi only defeated Eva in volume 3 because (1) she held WAY back and (2) her source of magical power got cut off on her unexpectedly.

      • Aki says:

Hmm touta as he is right now is stronger if not on par with negi when he first entered the magical world… Only thing negi lacked then was experience and power since he was easily taken care of by fate during the magic portal attack… I doubt touta can beat fate… And since negi had more fancy skills, he should be able to hold his own as proven by his early gladiator fights.

After obtaining magia erebea, negi and touta are more on par since rakan began training negi…

Negi should be able to beat touta since negi can load different spells and obtain different effects, sadly touta can’t beat raiten taishou II negi or queen of ice Evageline since he would be using the enhance base form whilst they use the advance armament enhance forms.

What ur king me right now, is the fact touta meant to be a swordsman judging from all those promo art of him using gravity blade… I don’t like how he just showing everything else off and not getting into swordsmanship

        • Dargor says:

Magia Erebea didn’t really confer Negi any powers by itself (Before the series went off the tracks and gave Negi immortality and regen) beyond loading new spells into himself and expanding his moveset. Touta’s shundo should be by now superior to anyone’s we saw in Negima, and if we place ME Negi prior to developing Raiten Taisou, I’d say at this point its still incredibly close. Touta’s own ambient regen factor probably tips the scale in his favor, unless Negi could dispatch him entirely.

Its brains versus brawn made manifest. Touta could probably win in a war of attrition, but that’s only assuming Negi doesn’t come up with a counter measure that can take him out in one fell swoop.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

Touta could probably win in a war of attrition, but that’s only assuming Negi doesn’t come up with a counter measure that can take him out in one fell swoop.

            Of course, it is possible that Touta would simply be able to mimic everything Negi threw at him (sans spells…for now) so…^_^;;;

          • Aki says:

Nah kaede shundo and negi raishuko shundo still surpass touta speed. Also during the fight against the that sheimeiryu swordsman at the ostian ball negi started turning into a demon just like touta due to the corrupting effect.

Using the base form of maga erebea allows some to amplify their ability for example base version of magia erebea actis noctis will x2 your stats and then the demon transformation is a x4 buffer whilst loading spells is a variant depending on the spell loaded for added effect.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

I’m still not a fan of Touta being able to use ME but not being a mage.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

I doubt touta can beat fate…

I agree, but then he’d watch Fate do something and suddenly, Touta could do it too. 😛

What ur king me right now, is the fact touta meant to be a swordsman judging from all those promo art of him using gravity blade… I don’t like how he just showing everything else off and not getting into swordsmanship

          Yeah, that sword has been MIA, hasn’t it. ^_^;;;
