Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25Sailor Pluto commits the third taboo and stops time. She releases time for Sailor Moon and company as well as Black Lady. Because of her actions, Sailor Pluto dies, which causes Black Lady to cry, which causes her to become a Sailor Senshi as Chibi-Usa. Time is freed and Wiseman-Nemesis is held off by Sailor Moon and company. They think they’ve defeated him, but he returns, causing Prince Demande to face him because he wants Queen Serenity. Wiseman-Nemesis kills Demande and plunges them all into evil darkness. They see a giant skull, representing Wiseman, aka: Death Phantom. Sailor Moon vows to protect Earth.

Thoughts/Review:

Not that this was any kind of difficult call, but I did call the Sailor Pluto move…to a degree.

With the episode going into three taboos that Sailor Pluto cannot commit, and her already committing one by passing through the door she’s supposed to guard, I presume that she’ll be the deus ex machina to get the story out of its predicament and get Black Lady back to Small Lady (or whatever)

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

I had thought that Sailor Pluto would do something with time that would cause things to turn right. What I didn’t expect was that Sailor Pluto would die because she jacked with time. But that added the melodramatic flare to her deus ex machina moment.

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

Of all of the Sailor Senshi, Sailor Pluto was the only one who even seemed remotely intelligent and not a total bimbo. So from that aspect, it is kind of sad that she had to bite the dust. Now that she’s gone, who guards that space-time door that was so critical to be guarded?

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

Even though it was not surprising to see Chibi-Usa return and become the latest Sailor Bimbo, filling the loli slot, I was disappointed by this. I would have preferred Black Lady to have undergone the conversion and remain an adult, then with the same tenacity she showed against her future mother and her mother’s worthless friends, use that to battle Wiseman.

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

Other than establishing Chibi-Usa back in the good guy camp, she didn’t do anything as Sailor Loli. I suppose she’ll get to do something with her once and future mother for the ultimate smack down of Wiseman the Planet.

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

I didn’t expect Demande to get killed as he did in this episode. I figured he’d die at some point, but it was rather like, “OK, we have one too many wieners in this scene. So we need to get rid of one.”  Regardless, good riddance to a tedious character. I think that takes care of all of the Black Moon losers.

Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

The worthless Sailor Senshi were still worthless, even when they put in their two cents of effort. Seriously, it was absolutely laughable when Sailor Mercury is shooting a tiny stream of water at a planet. I’m sure that hurt, especially since her stream of water likely canceled out Sailor Mars little fire stream. Sailor Jupiter is trying to do her green lightning thing, which leaves Sailor Venus, who’s forced to use her S&M “love me roughly” chain attack to fend off a planet.
Sailor Moon Crystal - 25

And so, another “awesome” episode of Sailor Moon Crystal comes to an end. Oh the joys that are sure to come from the final (or maybe not so final) confrontation with Wiseman.

Sailor Moon Crystal sucks. Just saying.

  2. It almost makes me want to cry at how pathetic Crystal has made the Inners.
Seriously, it’s almost like the writers have got it in for them…

All of them used to be such great characters in their own right, and they just got completely shafted here.

If this had been my first exposure to Sailor Moon, I would most definitely never have become a fan of it.

I feel so sorry that you had to endure this drivel.
